Tara Reid Reacts as Police Close Drugging Case

Tara Reid Speaks Out After Police Close Investigation into Alleged Drugging Incident

Tara Reid, the actress known for her role in American Pie, has come forward to share her side of a disturbing incident that took place in November. The event led to her being hospitalized in Chicago and sparked an investigation by local authorities.

Reid was taken to a hospital on November 23 after she claimed her drink at a hotel bar was tampered with. She described the experience as "the scariest feeling I have ever felt." According to her account, she had one drink and then woke up the next day in the hospital without any memory of what happened.

Police Close Investigation Due to Lack of Evidence

The Rosemont Police Department in Illinois officially closed the investigation into Reid’s claims on December 11. A spokesperson for the department stated that no additional evidence had been found since their initial statement, which indicated there was no proof of the alleged drugging.

The spokesperson explained that police had spoken to everyone involved in the incident and found nothing outstanding. However, they emphasized that they could only rely on the evidence they had. “We don’t want to say what she’s claiming is false,” the spokesperson said, but added that surveillance footage did not show any signs of tampering with Reid’s drink.

Surveillance Footage Raises Questions

Reid disputed the police findings, pointing out that there were gaps in the surveillance footage. She told the Daily Mail that 33 minutes of the footage were unaccounted for. “They are making it seem like I chugged all this wine at once and ended up on a stretcher but after reviewing the footage that is not what happened at all,” she said.

Reid also mentioned that she saw herself in the footage arriving back from smoking with someone and taking only one sip of wine over 30 minutes. When the bartender asked if she wanted another drink, she signaled no because she still had a drink she hadn’t barely touched.

Medical Records and Hospital Experience

Reid expressed disappointment that her hospital test results did not indicate a blood alcohol content test. She alleged that she was never given an IV and that her medical records showed she was in such a bad state that she was screaming for help and didn’t know where she was. She also mentioned that she fell out of her hospital bed around 3 a.m. and needed a CT scan.

Reid shared her frustration with online ridicule and the lack of understanding from others. “To imagine how terrifying it would be as a woman having some wine and then waking up in the hospital with no clothes on in a gown after 12 hours not having any idea of what happened to me only to see that videos of the state I was in are all over the world,” she said.

Calls for Awareness and Caution

Despite the challenges, Reid remains hopeful that her story will raise awareness about similar incidents. “I truly hope my story can help save someone,” she said. She thanked her supporters for their continued encouragement and emphasized that she would never falsely accuse anyone of something like this unless she absolutely knew.

Reid said she learned a lot from the experience and hopes it brings more attention to the issue of drugging and the importance of caution for men and women worldwide.
