Rihanna cheers ASAP Rocky's 'Don't Be Dumb' cover art: 'Let's gooo baby'

ASAP Rocky Unveils Cover Art for New Album, "Don't Be Dumb"

ASAP Rocky has officially revealed the cover art for his upcoming album, Don't Be Dumb, and it's clear that his partner, Rihanna, is thrilled with the project. The rapper shared a photo of the official artwork on social media, hinting that director Tim Burton may have played a role in its design—though his wording remains ambiguous.

Rihanna quickly responded to the post, expressing her pride in her partner with an enthusiastic message: "So f*cking proud!!!! LETS GOOOO BABY."

The Harlem-based rapper unveiled the cover art for his latest album on Tuesday, sharing a statement that reads: "SORRY 4 THE WAIT DON'T BE DUMB FINALLY HERE! THANKS TIM BURTON FOR HELPING ME MAKE THIS MOVIE." While the exact involvement of Burton remains unclear, the connection between the two seems to be more than coincidental.

A Long-Awaited Collaboration

Earlier this year, Rocky spoke about his attempts to collaborate with Tim Burton on the album's artwork. In an interview with Billboard, he mentioned that he had shown the album to Burton, who was deeply impressed. "I sat and I played the album for Tim Burton, and he was f**kingwith it heavy," Rocky said. "He was rocking his head and he's like, ‘Wow! I didn't know you made that kind of music!'"

Despite this early interest, the collaboration did not come to fruition at the time due to scheduling conflicts. However, the recent release of the album’s cover art suggests that some form of creative partnership may still be in play.

Delays and Creative Evolution

The release of Don't Be Dumb has been anything but straightforward. The project faced several delays, which led to the cancellation and refund of preorders. When asked about the reasons behind the setbacks, Rocky attributed them to leaks and clearance issues. However, he also noted that the delays gave him more time to refine the album.

"I'm a perfectionist and I think sometimes that's my own worst enemy," he explained. "I like to keep revising and editing, pushing things to the limit. I want to explore every option and every possibility. I want to assure that all of my fans will be fulfilled when they get this music."

Rocky also joked about the album's delayed release during a recent vlog from Maurice Kamara's The People Gallery. "Don't Be Dumb. Never dropping," he quipped. "They gonna kill us for that one."

The Meaning Behind the Title

In October, Rocky shared the personal significance of the album's title, calling it a motto for his growth. "I used to do a lot of dumb shit. Now, I try to move on some straight and narrow shit," he said. "So, the smartest thing I did this year was just learn from a lot of mistakes that I made in the past."

He added, "I think we all should try to learn from mistakes. Some people don't evolve from it, but for me, I've been really trying to dissect all the mistakes I did and try my best to convert them into a positive. Sorry to sound cliché. Learning from my dumb mistakes was the smartest thing I did this year."

What to Expect

Don't Be Dumb is set to drop on January 16. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release, and the cover art has already generated significant buzz. The album promises to be a culmination of Rocky's creative journey, blending his signature style with new artistic influences.
