CNN Suggests Susie Wiles Unaware She Was Recorded Amid Trump Revelations

A CNN correspondent recently shared a list of conspiracy theories that have been circulating within White House circles following a detailed report from Vanity Fair. The report, which focused on Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, provided an in-depth look at the strategic political maneuvers, costly errors, and embarrassing missteps during President Donald Trump's second term.

Wiles, who has served as a key political strategist and close advisor to Trump, engaged in extensive interviews with reporter Chris Whipple over the course of a year. These conversations were largely on the record, and Wiles answered nearly every question posed to her. Despite this, the CNN correspondent suggested that some individuals close to Trump believe there is more to the story. She noted that Wiles is not someone who actively seeks media attention and rarely gives public interviews. Therefore, the fact that she participated in these interviews led many to speculate about its significance.

The correspondent speculated that Wiles might have believed the interviews were off the record or that they were part of a different kind of project that wouldn't be published immediately. Another theory was that the interviews were related to the 2028 campaign. Given Wiles' calculated approach to politics, it's likely that every action she takes has a purpose.

Wiles’ candid remarks, which marked her as the first woman to hold such a position, included describing the president as having "an alcoholic’s personality" and Vice President JD Vance as a calculating "conspiracy theorist." These comments, coming from someone who typically operates behind the scenes, raised questions about whether Wiles might soon leave her role. This speculation was reported by The Associated Press.

In response to the publication of the article, Wiles pushed back, calling it a “hit piece” that lacked context. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the entire administration supports Wiles and praised her leadership. Wiles described the article as a “disingenuously framed hit piece on me and the finest President, White House staff, and Cabinet in history.”

She expressed frustration that significant context was omitted and much of what she and others said about the team and the president was left out of the story. Wiles assumed that this omission was intended to create a chaotic and negative narrative about the president and his team.

As for Trump, he told the New York Post that he hadn’t read the piece. When asked if he still had confidence in Wiles, he responded, “Oh, she’s fantastic.”

Wiles described her role as channeling Trump’s energy, whims, and policy goals, including managing his desire for vengeance against political opponents, those he blames for his 2020 loss, and those who pursued criminal cases against him after his first term.

She also mentioned that Trump’s tariffs had been more painful than anticipated. Wiles admitted to some mistakes in Trump’s mass deportation program and suggested that the president’s retribution campaign against his perceived enemies had gone beyond what she initially wanted.
