Celebrating Qatar National Day 2022 with a Variety of Events
Qatar National Day 2022 is set to be a memorable occasion, coinciding with the closing ceremony and final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The city will come alive with numerous activities that highlight the culture, traditions, and spirit of the nation. Here’s a look at some of the exciting events planned for the celebration.
Music Festivals on December 18
Music lovers have plenty to look forward to on December 18, as several music festivals are scheduled to take place. The MDLBEAST Aravia and the Daydream Festival are two of the most anticipated events.
MDLBEAST Aravia
The lineup for MDLBEAST Aravia includes renowned artists such as SheiQ, El Fuego, Moudi AlShamrani, and Afrojack. This event promises an electrifying atmosphere with performances that cater to fans of various genres. Tickets can be purchased through the MDLBeast website.
Daydream Festival
Daydream Festival also features a stellar lineup of artists, including Tiesto, Chuckie, Jonas Blue, Rave Republic, and Marciano. The festival offers a unique experience for attendees who enjoy a mix of electronic and dance music. Tickets for this event can be bought on the Q-tickets website.
Mall of Qatar Activities
The Mall of Qatar has announced a series of events to celebrate Qatar National Day from December 15 to 18. These activities include:
- Stage shows featuring Ardha and flag dancers, oriental music performances, and more. Shows will begin at 3 pm on the 360-degree revolving stage at Oasis.
- Kids' activities designed to entertain young visitors with Arabic mascots, henna-application corners, face-painting, and flag distribution alongside arts and crafts. All of these activities start at 3 pm.
- Stage contests & prizes will be held for four days, with different timings each day. The first three days will run from 8–9:30 pm, while the final day will be from 3–5 pm.
Doha Corniche Celebration
The Doha Corniche will host a grand celebration starting with the morning National Day Parade and an air show. While the Corniche is closed to the public in the morning for high-ranking officials, the evening will offer a spectacular display of fireworks, a drone show, and a water show visible along the 6 km stretch and nearby areas. Visitors can enjoy a variety of F&B outlets and amenities during the event.
Msheireb Downtown Activities
Msheireb Downtown, located in the heart of Doha, will host several activities for Qatar National Day. The area is divided into three zones:
- Baraha Zone: Hosts the World Cup final match screening and the ongoing Forever Valentino exhibition at M7. Free entry is available if you book a table and dine at any of the restaurants in the area.
- Heritage Zone: Features activities that showcase Qatari heritage and culture.
- Sikka Zone: Offers a range of fun activities, including exhibitions, games, selfie-spots, street art installations, and more. Events like the Al Sikka International festival, CONMEBOL—Tree of Dreams, Quest Gaming District, Onside Doha’s pop-up section, and Intaj exhibition will take place here.
Katara Cultural Village
Katara Cultural Village will host a variety of events, exhibitions, and workshops from December 16 to 18 at Katara Esplanade. Highlights include:
- A stunning fireworks display
- Qatari music performances
- Traditional Ardha dance
- A military show
Additionally, the Qatar Street Art Festival and the Qatari Traditional Symphony Show are currently ongoing.
Aspire Zone Activities
On December 18, the Aspire Pavilion will host activities that include sports games, cultural shows, and an art and sports exhibition. The traditional Ardah will also be performed in two shows on Qatar National Day.
