Jaclyn Smith, 80, Shares Rare Photo with Her Lookalike Son

Charlie's Angels alum Jaclyn Smith recently captivated her followers with a rare glimpse into her personal life, sharing a heartfelt photo of her son, Gaston Richmond. The 80-year-old actress posted the image on social media, showcasing a tender moment between her and her son. In the photo, Jaclyn is seen in a striped black and white shirt, embracing Gaston from the side. Her hair, a blend of brunette and blonde, flows in soft waves past her shoulders. Gaston, standing a head taller than his mother, wears a green shirt and a matching cap, sporting a salt-and-pepper beard that adds to his distinguished appearance.

The post came with a nostalgic caption: "Then and now… Some things never change, he's still my Sonshine!" This sentiment was accompanied by an image of the 1984 Good Housekeeping cover featuring Jaclyn holding her then-two-year-old son. Fans were quick to respond to the heartwarming post, with many expressing their admiration for both mother and son. One comment read, "Beautiful mom and handsome son!!!" while another wrote, "You have not changed Jaclyn! Gaston is so handsome!"

Jaclyn’s connection to the world of television runs deep, as she is best known for her role as Kelly Garrett in the original Charlie’s Angels series. Her son, Gaston, has followed in her footsteps, working as a TV cameraman on various shows, including the Party of Five revival, Shameless, Fresh Off the Boat, and Three Rivers. His passion for the industry is a testament to the legacy he inherited from his mother, who was one of the original stars of the iconic '70s show alongside Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson.

The Charlie’s Angels series aired from 1976 to 1981, and Jaclyn was the only actor to appear in all 110 episodes. She remains close to her former co-stars, Cheryl Ladd and Kate Jackson, and has spoken fondly of her time on the show. In an interview with Page Six, she reflected on the camaraderie among the cast. "The heartbeat of that show was the girls. The first three, we all got along, we were all friends," she said. "Farrah and I had a similar background coming from Texas, and Kate was the leader. She had already done a series. She was the boss at that point, and we didn't know what we would find at the other end."

Tragically, Farrah Fawcett passed away in 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Jaclyn continues to support the Farrah Fawcett Foundation, which focuses on funding research for HPV-related cancers and providing financial assistance to patients. "I think about my career, but it always comes back to Charlie's Angels," Jaclyn said. "The chemistry and three women being the lead, and it was easy, it was not to be overanalyzed. I think what made it interesting was we were all so totally different in demeanor and looks, so there was someone for everyone."

Jaclyn and Kate Jackson share a deep bond of friendship, with Kate attending Gaston’s wedding to Bonnie Lane in July 2023. "She goes back that far," Jaclyn told People. "And she happens to be my daughter [Spencer]'s godmother, but yet she's very much a part of both of my children's lives. And it's a friend for the ages. I mean, you experience what we did together, and there's a bond and a tie that never goes away."

She added that reuniting at the wedding was like "no time had passed. It was just joyous. It was beautiful. And I was so happy to see her out and looking beautiful and very present."
