Fans join actress Casey Wilson to find rats in her home

Actor, comedian, writer, and podcaster Casey Wilson is widely recognized for her work on Saturday Night Live, Happy Endings, A-- Backwards, and Bride Wars. However, she has recently captured public attention for an entirely different reason. A severe rat infestation in her home has led her to turn to her fans for assistance, all while maintaining a lighthearted and humorous approach.

Casey shared that she and her husband have been waking up to rats in their faces, with sightings of the pests emerging from the toilet. As a result, they have temporarily evacuated their home but are monitoring the situation closely, hoping to return by the end of the month. In a unique twist, Casey has transformed her infestation into a livestream, allowing fans to witness the ongoing challenge.

In early December 2025, Casey Wilson shared a different kind of livestream on Instagram. In a video, she greeted viewers with, "Welcome to my livestream. This one is a little bit different than most. I know some of you have checked in on bald eagles or owls' nests to see how things are going in a far-flung part of the world." She then shifted the focus to her own situation, stating, "But on my feed, we're checking in on rats, specifically the toilet rats" that have taken over her home in La Quinta, California.

Casey described a moment when she woke up to a rat on her nightstand, staring back at her face-to-face. "Rats and mice are my greatest fear in life," she admitted. She added, "I know there's larger things going on in the world, but if you're here, all I ask is that you spend a little time, do a shift." She expressed curiosity about whether anyone would spot a rat emerging from the toilet. The video ended with her noting that her eye hasn't stopped twitching since she first encountered the rats.

So far, fans have not spotted any rats on the livestream. Instead, the comments section has become a space for fans to share their own experiences with rats in their homes. Questions have flooded in about how rats can enter through toilets, whether they wait for humans to return, and if they are building a village in the walls. These discussions highlight the broader concerns surrounding rodent infestations.

Paul Sheer and June Diane Raphael are also affected by the Rat Watch 2025 phenomenon. On their podcast Casey and Michelle's Garbage World, June Diane Raphael and her husband, Paul Sheer, humorously sought help, stating they were planning a vacation in La Quinta at the end of December and didn’t want to cancel their plans.

June and Paul expressed deep emotional distress over the situation. Paul even comically walked off-screen and swore at the end of the episode, overwhelmed by the circumstances. One fan praised them, saying, "June and Paul. Dramatic performance of a lifetime."

In the comments, another fan wrote, "It's so hard to see this impact multiple families ... across three podcast empires (HDTGM, Garbage World, Deep Dive) ... in this economy ... at this time of year. Sending you all love AND light." Another comment read, "I don't think I can handle a June + Paul breakup. This is rats America." If their relationship is under threat, it seems the entire country must unite to address Rat Watch 2025.
