A New Beginning for Fallout Season 2

The second season of Fallout kicked off with a powerful and memorable scene that set the tone for the rest of the season. The Ghoul, previously known as Cooper Howard, and Lucy managed to outsmart a group of Khans, allowing them to steal their supplies. This pivotal moment not only showcased their cunning but also hinted at the direction the story would take. Despite this, The Ghoul noted that Lucy used non-lethal methods, targeting the buttocks or knees of the gang members rather than killing them.

Lucy's actions demonstrated her continued belief in the goodness of people and her preference for non-violent solutions. This was a surprising development, especially after the events of Season 1, which had left Lucy deeply affected by the chaos and destruction of the Wasteland. Her father's role in the nuclear destruction of the world had left her heartbroken, and she had lost her smile by the end of the previous season. However, it seems that time has allowed her to regain some of her optimism, and she is returning to her original self in Season 2.

Will Season 2 Change Lucy?

Throughout most of Season 2's premiere, Lucy remained the character fans knew from Season 1. However, a glimpse of her inner turmoil emerged when she and The Ghoul explored an abandoned Vault. They were searching for Hank, but instead, they discovered a twisted experiment he had left behind. Hank had implanted a mind-control device in a Wastelander, who then delivered a message to Lucy telling her to stop following him. After relaying the message, the test subject's head exploded, leaving Lucy shaken.

This event highlighted Lucy's growing frustration with her father's actions and her willingness to consider more extreme measures. However, the episode ended with a brief clip showing Lucy questioning The Ghoul's harsh methods and wondering if the family he lost would recognize the person he has become. This raises the question: will we see a hardened Lucy by the end of Season 2, or will The Ghoul be the one who changes?
