Director of Food and Beverage

This salaried position comes with an annual pay range of $105,000 to $110,000. The Food and Beverage Director oversees the front and back of the house operations of the food and beverage program on campus in consultation with a Dietitian. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining established dietary standards and policies, and assisting the Dietitian in establishing and revising dietary policies and procedures.
  • Interviewing salespeople and purchasing food and supplies, checking incoming food and supplies, and directing storage location and procedures.
  • Recording department costs, maintaining the inventory system, and regularly checking storage areas for the stock levels of staple items.
  • Preparing menus for distribution, including processing diet changes, checking that menus for patients on special diets or with dietary restrictions comply with physicians’ orders, identifying menus (normal diets and special diets), and planning meals accordingly.
  • Directing duties of Cook, etc., as required. Checking special diet trays.
  • Planning and assisting in the preparation of special meals for parties, banquets, etc.
  • Assuring efficiency of food preparation and serving; compliance with local, state, and federal standards; sanitation, hygiene, and health standards of personnel.
  • Overseeing the selection, training, evaluation, and disciplining of all dietary personnel.
  • Reviewing and maintaining required records and reports covering (a) number and kinds of regular and therapeutic diets, (b) prepared nutritional and caloric analyses of meals, costs of raw food and labor, (c) computation of daily meal costs, (d) inventory of equipment and supplies, and (e) developing and directing department cost control procedures.
  • Delegating authority to supervisory staff for task details to facilitate the smooth flow of materials and services.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • A degree or certificate within the food service industry.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory/management experience within the food service industry.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Willingness to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Part-Time Registered Nurse

Freedom Village at Brandywine is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to work every other weekend from 7 AM to 3 PM in its skilled nursing facility. The starting range for RNs is $40/hr plus shift differential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation, and emergency call lights inside the skilled nursing center.
  • Assisting with the admission and discharge process.
  • Keeping the physician and family aware of changes in the resident’s condition.
  • Making rounds with physicians and transcribing orders.
  • Assuring continuity of services and care.

Requirements for this role are:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Registered nurse with a current license in the community’s state.
  • At least 6 months of experience in geriatric nursing/Long Term Care.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
