Amber Davies Breaks Down in Tears on 'Strictly' in Emotional Moment

Amber Davies’ Emotional Journey on Strictly Come Dancing

Amber Davies, a 29-year-old West End star, recently broke down in tears while reflecting on her emotional journey on Strictly Come Dancing. Her heartfelt admission that "the Strictly bubble has burst" came during an appearance on It Takes Two, where she spoke about the incredible experience of reaching the finale.

Amber and her professional partner, Nikita Kuzmin, 25, are now set to compete for the Glitterball Trophy in the final episode, which will air on Saturday, December 16. The pair defeated actress Balvinder Sopal in last week’s intense dance-off, securing their place in the grand finale.

During her appearance on It Takes Two, Amber became overwhelmed with emotion as she reflected on the journey that brought her to this point. She told host Fleur East: “It makes me wanna cry, honestly. I can't believe I'm here, just the way that we started.” She added, “I had this random phone call on a Wednesday night, to being in the final and having the best 12 weeks of my life.”

Struggling to hold back her tears, Amber continued: “I'm just over the moon. I don't want it to be over. Have we got any tissues?” Nikita handed her a box of tissues, and Amber dabbed at her eyes before breaking down in tears again.

She went on to express her gratitude for the experience, saying: “We are tired, but do you know what? This is the last few days and I'm just so grateful. My alarm went off, sorry, I'm such a crier at the minute because I just love it so much. My alarm went off this morning and I jumped out of bed, because I just thought that this was the last Tuesday.”

Controversy Over Dance Routine

The emotional moment came after Amber faced backlash from some fans who accused her of “ripping off the routine from her West End show” during the Musicals Week episode. During the performance, Amber and Nikita danced to a version of the Charleston from Guys and Dolls, earning a perfect score of 40 out of 40.

Some viewers noticed that the dance moves were similar to those she performed in The Great Gatsby on the West End stage. However, Amber clarified that the routine was intentionally created as an “easter egg” to pay tribute to the viral routine from The Great Gatsby.

A BBC spokesperson stated: “This was a new routine choreographed for Strictly Come Dancing, which - as already discussed online - briefly paid tribute to The Great Gatsby as a nod to Musicals Week.”

Despite the controversy, Amber remains focused on the final. Her journey from Love Island to the West End and now to Strictly Come Dancing has been nothing short of remarkable.

A Star on the Rise

Amber first gained fame on Love Island in 2017, but her career truly took off when she joined the West End stage. She has starred in productions such as Pretty Woman, 9 to 5: The Musical, and The Great Gatsby, where she played Jordan Baker in The Great Gatsby: A New Musical at the London Coliseum.

Her training at London's prestigious Urdang Academy, a drama school for musical theatre and dance, helped her secure a spot on Strictly Come Dancing after Dani Dyer pulled out due to a fractured ankle. Despite being turned down twice by Strictly bosses for being overqualified, Amber has proven herself as a formidable competitor.

On Instagram, she wrote: “I'm really just trying my best... The meanies are out to play.” Her determination and talent have made her a surprise contender in the competition.

Final Thoughts

As the final approaches, fans are eagerly watching to see if Amber can claim the Glitterball Trophy. Her emotional journey, combined with her impressive dance skills, has made her a fan favorite. While some question whether her West End experience gives her an unfair advantage, others believe she has earned her place through hard work and dedication.

With the final just days away, Amber and Nikita are preparing for one last chance to shine on the ballroom floor. Whether or not they win, their story is a testament to perseverance, passion, and the power of dreams.
