SNL Season 51 Returns with Exciting New Cast and Star-Studded Hosts
On October 4, 2025, Saturday Night Live makes a triumphant return to the iconic Studio 8H stage. This marks the debut of Season 51, which features a newly revamped cast that includes several new Featured Players. Among them are Veronika Slowikowska, Kam Patterson, Jeremy Culhane, Tommy Brennan, and Ben Marshall, who gained popularity through their work on Please Don't Destroy. These performers will take center stage in a series of sketches featuring a rotating lineup of celebrity hosts.
The Season 51 host lineup has already generated a lot of excitement. As of September 18, it has been confirmed that Bad Bunny will open the season as the premiere episode's host, with Musical Guest Doja Cat. Following this, Amy Poehler, a beloved alum of the show, will return to 30 Rock to host the next week’s episode. Additionally, a certain pop star will join the double-duty club by serving as both host and musical guest.
Saturday Night Live has long been known for its tradition of welcoming rising stars alongside established names. A notable example is comedian Nate Bargatze, who made a successful debut in Season 49 and was invited back for Season 50. With his upcoming hosting gig, Bad Bunny officially joins this prestigious group.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is a Puerto Rican musician and actor. This will be his second time hosting SNL, following his double-duty debut in Season 49 and his appearance as a musical guest in the Season 50 finale. The Grammy-winning artist had a busy 2025, including the release of his genre-spanning album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, a residency in San Juan, an upcoming world tour, and roles in the films Happy Gilmore 2 and Caught Stealing. He also contributed to SNL's 50th anniversary programs, performing at SNL50: The Homecoming and appearing on SNL50: The Anniversary Special, where he joined the Domingo universe as a brother of the homewrecking ladies' man.

October 11: Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler, a familiar face to many viewers, needs no introduction. She was an SNL cast member from 2001 to 2008 and played Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. As a host, she brings her Emmy-winning talent as an actress, writer, producer, and director. This will be her third time hosting SNL, with her last appearance being in 2015 when she co-headlined with Tina Fey.

Sabrina Carpenter is set to join the ranks of pop queens like Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, and Lady Gaga by pulling double duty as both SNL host and musical guest. Her involvement with SNL began in Season 49 when she was a musical guest in Jake Gyllenhaal's finale. She might have secured this hosting gig through her role as Daphne in Gyllenhaal's "Scooby Doo" sketch.
