A Royal Visit and a Strong President

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, has been the subject of ongoing online speculation regarding his health. However, his close friend and British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, recently confirmed that Trump is "on great form." During Trump's second state visit to the UK, Piers had a brief conversation with the former president and First Lady Melania Trump.

Piers, who is 60 years old, shared his experience on Instagram, posting a photo of himself with Trump from the past. He wrote, "President Trump called me for a 10-minute chat before leaving Windsor. He was on great form—absolutely loved his big royal day, and being back in the UK again. Spoke to the First Lady too, who sounded equally happy about how it's all going on the state visit. Great to hear!"

This visit marked a significant moment for Trump, as he was invited by King Charles just six years after being hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth II during his first term as president in June 2019. Piers noted that Trump enjoyed the event and had a memorable time.

A Friendship Forged in Politics

Piers Morgan's friendship with Trump began after Trump won The Celebrity Apprentice US in 2008, when he was hosting the show. The two have maintained a connection over the years, especially after Trump's re-election for a second term in November 2024. In a post on Instagram, Piers expressed his congratulations, writing, "Congratulations to Donald Trump on the greatest comeback in political history. A testament to your resilience, mental strength & never-give-up mentality as your enemies tried to kill you, jail you & brand you the new Hitler. Good luck in your 2nd term. Unity > revenge!"

During an interview on Good Morning Britain (GMB) in March, Piers revealed that he had spoken with Trump just hours before a heated exchange between the president and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House. Piers described the call as a long conversation, where they discussed various topics. He also mentioned that the taxi driver who was taking him at the time asked if he had just spoken to the president. Upon confirming, the driver said, "I've been driving cabs a long time, I've never had anyone talk with the President of the United States in the back of my cab."

A New Tech Deal Between the U.S. and the U.K.

During Trump's unprecedented second state visit to the UK, he and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a new tech deal aimed at helping both countries dominate in the field of artificial intelligence. The agreement, signed at Chequers, involves U.S. firms investing in the UK and boosting cooperation on AI, quantum computing, and other emerging technologies.

Trump emphasized the significance of the deal, stating, "This agreement will also help America and our British allies dominate the future of artificial intelligence." He highlighted that the U.S. is leading China and the world in AI development. The deal also aims to ensure the UK has access to the best AI hardware and software globally.

In addition to the tech deal, Trump and Starmer are working on an economic security alliance, which Trump promised would be completed "very quickly." At a joint press conference, Starmer remarked, "We've renewed the special relationship for a new era."

Health Speculation and Public Concerns

Despite these positive developments, Trump's state visit has come amid weeks of speculation about his health. Various incidents, including photos of marks on his hands, swollen ankles, and a lopsided face during an event honoring 9/11 victims, have fueled concerns among Americans. Although the White House and Trump himself have addressed the rumors, many remain convinced that his health may be declining.

As the U.S. and the U.K. continue to strengthen their partnership, the focus remains on the future of technology and global leadership. With Trump's return to the UK and his continued efforts to build international alliances, the world watches closely to see how this chapter unfolds.
