While many speculated about Barron’s potential in basketball due to his height, he ultimately chose soccer over the sport his father was passionate about. Unlike Barron, Homer found his way into the world of football, specifically as a running back. His journey began during his high school years at Oxbridge Academy, where he participated in the 7-on-7 Adidas South Florida Shootout at the University of Miami. This event helped put him on the map and caught the attention of numerous scouts.

Homer’s high school career was nothing short of impressive. He accumulated 3,220 yards and 41 touchdowns, which led him to sign with the University of Miami in February 2016. At the time, five of his teammates also received scholarships, showing the strength of the program at Oxbridge Academy. Homer played three seasons at the university before declaring for the NFL draft in 2019 after his junior year.

Despite the challenges, Homer found success in the NFL. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the 204th overall pick, a position that many considered low. In July 2023, he hosted a football camp at Oxbridge Academy, making it the first time an NFL player from the school had done so. “I want to get back to my roots,” he said at the time. “I was born and raised here. I want to give back to the community as much as I can.”
