Steph Curry Fires Back After Killer Mike's Jabs at Ayesha

The Backlash Against Ayesha Curry and the Response from Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry, one of the most celebrated athletes in the world, typically avoids public discussions about his personal life, especially when it comes to his marriage. However, he recently found himself compelled to speak out after a series of comments from rapper Killer Mike sparked controversy around his wife, Ayesha Curry.
The issue began with an artist named Bookie Woodz, who posted a TikTok video on September 5th that criticized Ayesha for what he perceived as her attempts to embarrass Stephen. Woodz claimed that Ayesha was “putting in maximum effort to let the world know that she is struggling with trying not to cheat on her husband.” He went on to accuse her of constantly talking about how frustrated she is with Stephen’s success and how she wishes she were the one receiving attention from other men.
This accusation led to a broader conversation about Ayesha’s past statements regarding her experiences as the wife of a NBA superstar. In 2019, she appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk” where she shared her feelings of insecurity due to the lack of male attention she received compared to Stephen. She admitted that it made her question whether something was wrong with her.
More recently, Ayesha opened up on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast about the challenges of adapting to Stephen’s fame. She described how the attention brought both opportunities and difficulties, stating that she initially hated the spotlight and didn’t expect her life to take such a turn.
Despite these revelations, some fans interpreted her words as ungrateful, leading to further criticism. Rapper Killer Mike, who came across Woodz’s video, responded with a comment that seemed to support the allegations against Ayesha. He wrote, “My N-gga Said She Wanna Go Be Glo. Man Steph Doesn’t deserve the embarrassment fr fr. God Bless him.”
Stephen Curry was clearly upset by the comments and took to social media to address them. He said, “Naaaaa not you Mike. I’m cool sta[y]ing silent and letting these other clowns have their moment!” He also directly called out Woodz, saying, “And you’re the worst of them,” before tagging him in the post.
Fans responded to the situation with mixed reactions. Some supported Stephen’s decision to speak out, while others questioned why he focused on the rapper rather than addressing Ayesha’s own statements. One fan wrote, “Stephen Curry not saying nothing to his wife, but he’s online arguing with people I’m starting not to like him anymore.”
Killer Mike’s comment was later deleted from Woodz’s video, but fans continued to express their opinions on the matter. Many took to social media to criticize Killer Mike for speaking negatively about another man’s wife, with one person writing, “Very disappointed for you to share that message about that other man’s wife smh you men are something else.”
Unlike Stephen, Ayesha has not publicly responded to the criticisms or the comments made by Killer Mike and Woodz. However, her journey with Stephen has been well-documented. The couple first met as teenagers at a church youth group in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2003. They reconnected a few years later in Los Angeles and eventually married. Together, they have four children: daughters Riley and Ryan, and sons Canon and Caius.
As the debate continues, many are watching to see how Ayesha will respond to the ongoing scrutiny and whether Stephen will continue to defend his wife in the public eye.
