Elmira 2, Watkins Glen 0

In this match, Elmira's Hailey Hamilton scored with an assist from Gracelyn Wheeler at the 4:51 mark of the first half. Later, Wheeler added another goal for the Express at 30:11 remaining in the game. On the other side, Watkins Glen's Brianna Hatch made six saves, including a crucial stop on a penalty kick.

Watkins Glen coach Scott Morse shared his thoughts after the game, stating, "We fell short today, but I'm very proud of the girls and how they played the game. Every year when we are filling out our schedule, I try to find some larger schools to play, and I appreciate Elmira giving us the opportunity. Elmira is a young team, but they are very talented and played a great game today."

We weren't able to find feet as much tonight and Tioga has some talented players that capitalized on our mistakes. Lots of season left to play and learn from this moving forward."

Coach Sage Garrison of Odessa-Montour said, "Hard-fought game today. Very proud of the effort from all 11 girls, giving everything they've got to try and come back in this game. We just didn't finish some of our chances. SVEC is a good team with some talented players and it was great to see us go toe-to-toe with them."

Corning's Liz Mazzali scored on a direct kick early in the second half. Karina Swarthout made 14 saves. Coach Julie Pierce praised Swarthout, saying, "She is a young goalie who made great decisions and kept her focus throughout the game." She also highlighted the team's growth, noting that Hayden Robertson, Marge Calkins, Kenna Kempton, and Roni Nevins were outstanding.

Coach Scott Morse of Watkins Glen said, "In our second game of the season we prevailed in a difficult game that, honestly, could have gone either way. Notre Dame is fast, aggressive and talented and it's always a challenge playing there."

Odessa-Montour's Maddie Wallenbeck scored one goal and provided an assist, while Leah Antes and Avery Spaccio each scored. Avery Nolan provided an assist, with Vanessa Wood making six saves.

Coach Sage Garrison of Odessa-Montour said, "Great to get a nice win to start off the season. Proud of the girls. They stepped up on the field ready to play and brought good energy, moved the ball well, and communicated throughout the game. Thomas Edison played hard and created some dangerous scoring opportunities when our legs got heavy, but we were able to clean some of them up."
