Heart Space Health Inc., a company known for its innovative approach to mental health, has taken a significant step forward by expanding its flagship program, Within Center, to AWKN Ranch. This 12-acre healing retreat, located just outside Austin, Texas, is now home to the inpatient facility that serves as the foundation for Within Center's ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and psychedelic mental health care.

This expansion represents a major achievement for the company’s mission to redefine mental health through legal psychedelic therapies. The new facility, which includes eight bedrooms, offers a natural sanctuary where individuals can focus on deep healing, spiritual awakening, and trauma recovery.

A Community-Driven Initiative

The success of this expansion was driven by a grassroots effort that brought together a diverse group of supporters. Among them were Navy SEALs, veterans, police officers, first responders, doctors, healers, professors, and members of the plant medicine community. Together, they raised over $1.1 million in capital, demonstrating a shared belief in the future of psychedelic-assisted healing.

William Naylor, founder of Within Center, emphasized the importance of the people involved in this initiative. “What makes this special is not just the facility but it’s the people,” he said. “Several of us came together as friends and collaborators in the plant medicine healing space and asked: how can we create a permanent home for this work, one that integrates community, safety, nature, and science? That’s how Within was born.”

Evolution of Within Center

Within Center was originally launched in 2020 with a hybrid model that combined outpatient therapy and retreat-based care. As demand grew and the company successfully raised funds in 2021, the team expanded its services, refined clinical protocols, and prepared for a dedicated residential facility.

Now, this vision has become a reality at AWKN Ranch, where clients can experience a fully immersive environment designed to help them reset their nervous systems and reconnect with purpose, presence, and possibility.

Current Offerings and Future Goals

Currently, Within Center operates as a cash-pay facility with affordable rates. However, the company is actively working toward state licensure to accept insurance, which will increase accessibility and align with Texas’s evolving mental health landscape.

At AWKN Ranch, multi-day retreats include a variety of therapeutic activities such as:

• Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy
• Group integration and trauma processing
• Yoga, breathwork, and somatic practices
• Nature immersion and meditation
• Cold plunges, saunas, and wellness studio sessions

Texas Leading the Way in Psychedelic Medicine

The expansion of Within Center coincides with historic legislation in Texas. In June 2025, Governor Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 2308, which allocates $50 million in public funds for clinical psychedelic research, including the study of ibogaine for addiction and PTSD.

While Within Center does not currently use ibogaine, this development highlights the growing momentum for psychedelic-assisted care in the state. “Texas is leading the way, and that affirms everything we’ve been working for,” said Naylor. “We’re proud to be part of this shift, bringing legal, compassionate, and effective mental health care to more people through this new model.”
