A Violent Encounter at a Florida Bar

A disturbing incident unfolded at Grumpy's Underground bar in Orlando, Florida, where a bartender allegedly stabbed a patron 10 times during an argument over a bar tab. The suspect, Jason Wilfredo Rosario, 30, is now facing charges of attempted second-degree murder. The incident occurred on August 31 and was detailed in a probable cause arrest affidavit.

The Incident Unfolds

According to the police report, officers responded to the bar after a woman with blood on her hands approached them. She had been in an alley behind the bar when she heard two men fighting. Later, a man passed by her and mentioned that there had been a stabbing. When she returned to the bar, a patron pointed out the blood on her hands.

The victim described the argument as beginning when Rosario charged him for drinks that were not served. Although the manager resolved the situation, Rosario reportedly remained upset. He repeatedly insulted the victim, saying "you can suck a d—" and made a crude comment about the victim’s deceased mother. Rosario then suggested they take the argument outside.

Once outside, the verbal conflict continued. Rosario allegedly said something about the victim’s mother "sucking a d—." In response, the victim punched Rosario, who fell to the ground. The two then struggled on the ground, and Rosario pulled out a knife, slashing the victim in the back. According to the affidavit, Rosario said, "I got him" before the incident ended.

The Aftermath

The victim told police the attack happened so quickly that he didn’t realize he had been stabbed. Officers discovered 10 stab wounds on the victim—seven on his left back and three on his head. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, the bar owner approached the officers and stated, “Saucy stabbed somebody and it's not ok.” She identified Rosario as "Joc Hip Hop," a name she used for him. The owner described Rosario as "hotheaded" and mentioned she had planned to fire him after just three shifts.

As the owner spoke with the police, Rosario called her. An officer answered the phone and informed Rosario that he needed to return to the bar. The police obtained an arrest warrant for Rosario and took him into custody on Friday.

Legal Consequences

Rosario is currently in the Orange County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday. This incident has raised concerns about the behavior of employees in the hospitality industry and the need for better conflict resolution training.

Additional Information

This case highlights the importance of addressing conflicts in public spaces and ensuring the safety of both staff and customers. The bar owner's statement about Rosario being "hotheaded" suggests that there may have been prior issues that were not adequately addressed.

As the legal process continues, the community remains concerned about the events that transpired and the potential for similar incidents in the future. The case serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and proper management in establishments where alcohol is served.
