A Day of Unpredictable Talent and Surprises on America’s Got Talent Season 20

With only one Golden Buzzer left to use, the eighth round of auditions for America’s Got Talent Season 20 was filled with high stakes and intense anticipation. The atmosphere was charged as performers from all walks of life took the stage, each bringing something unique to the table. What made this day even more memorable was the sheer variety of acts—some were wild, some were bizarre, and others were completely unexpected.

The day started with a pair of weight-lifting influencers who stunned the judges with their incredible feats of strength and agility. Their performance included tossing barbells across the stage and over the heads of Sofía Vergara and Mel B., leaving the audience in awe. Howie Mandel praised their energy and called it an inspiration for people to get in shape. Host Terry Crews, who is no stranger to the gym, added that the act was “my guys right here.”

Another standout performer was Silas Luke Jones, an 18-year-old from Homer, Alaska, who delivered a mesmerizing guitar performance using reverb, loops, and percussion. His one-man rock band act left the judges speechless, with Vergara calling it “insane” and “surprising.” All four judges gave him a unanimous yes, recognizing his talent and potential.

The dance group Unreal, hailing from Jaipur, India, also made a powerful impression. Inspired by Bollywood routines, they performed an intricate piece that involved optical illusions and "dismembered" body parts. Terry Crews described it as one of the most amazing things he had ever seen. Simon Cowell was equally impressed, calling it creative and brilliant. Mandel, moved by the effort and dedication, hit the Golden Buzzer for the act.

Evelyn Errante, a 13-year-old singer from California, brought Broadway dreams to life with her powerful rendition of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked. While Mandel wasn’t a fan of musical theater, he acknowledged her courage and guts. The other judges also gave her a yes, sending her on to the next round.

Tej, Ibhan & Lars, three friends with a unique invention, turned the judges’ skepticism into excitement. Their act involved throwing fruit into a blender attached to a helmet and making a smoothie. The judges were so impressed that they all voted yes, and the trio promised to become The Human Piñata if they advanced.

The Jet Boys, a group of dancer-singers, showcased impressive moves but struggled with their vocals. Despite some hesitation from the judges, their strong dancing ultimately earned them a yes vote.

Dewayne “Insane Wayne” Jackson, a stand-up comedian who uses a wheelchair, delivered a hilarious set about the benefits of being in a wheelchair. His humor and authenticity won over the judges, with Mandel calling him “amazing, memorable, and real.”

On the flip side, Richard and Carlene, a competitive eating couple, failed to impress the judges with their snack-eating race. While the act was amusing, it lacked the talent required to earn a yes vote.

Chris Turner, a freestyle rapper from Manchester, England, made a bold move by incorporating random suggestions from the judges into his rap. His flawless performance was a first in the show’s history, earning praise from Mandel and a yes vote from all judges.

Other notable performances included Kseniia Angel, whose attitude didn’t match her talent, and Campus Univers, who put on a dramatic stunt act that had the audience on the edge of their seats. Andy “Wigman” Yu, a former construction worker turned fashion enthusiast, tried to blend style and dance but fell short of the judges' expectations. Alexa Morales, a Grammy-winning salsa singer, surprised everyone with a bizarre performance that included a fur suit and a keytar, resulting in a buzzer.

Finally, Goldie Hen, a small-town chicken with a big dream, captivated the judges with her hula hooping and comedic charm. Her performance was both impressive and hilarious, and Cowell couldn’t stop laughing throughout.

From high-energy stunts to unexpected surprises, the eighth round of auditions on America’s Got Talent Season 20 proved once again that anything can happen when talent meets creativity.
