However, NBC has since renewed The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds, though those are the only new shows that survived the cuts.

The decision to cancel so many programs came after NBC signed an 11-year deal with the NBA worth nearly $2.5 billion per year. This agreement means the network will air up to 100 regular-season games, which has affected the amount of original programming available in the fall.
