Valladares Launches Valencia Office, Promises Access and Action

A New Era of Engagement: Senator Valladares Opens Valencia Office
Senator Suzette Martinez Valladares, representing Acton in the California Senate, recently held a grand opening for her new Valencia office. The event drew a crowd of local dignitaries, business leaders, law enforcement representatives, and community members, all eager to learn more about the senator’s vision and commitment to public service.
The event was part of a broader effort by Valladares to connect with constituents across her district. Earlier in the week, she hosted a similar grand opening at her Lancaster office, emphasizing the importance of accessibility and direct engagement with the people she serves.
During her address at the Valencia event, Valladares highlighted her dedication to being available to her constituents. “Too often our representatives aren’t accessible,” she said. “I work for you — each and every one of you — and it’s important to me that you have a space where you can come talk to me about your casework, or good bill ideas or bad bill ideas.”
Hands-On Support for Constituents
According to Charles Navarro, the district director for Valladares, the office has been focused on providing hands-on support to residents. Since January, the team has helped locals secure over $256,714 through casework assistance. This figure underscores the office’s commitment to addressing individual concerns and advocating for the needs of the community.
Valladares also shared some of the significant achievements she has made since taking office eight months ago. One of her proudest moments came when she became part of a historic milestone in California politics. “After I was elected this December, for the first time in California history, I was not only proud to be sworn in on the Senate floor, but for the first time in California, the California Senate reached parity with women representation,” she said.
This achievement marked a turning point for the state legislature, with women now making up the majority in the Senate. Valladares emphasized how this shift has influenced the types of legislation being introduced, reflecting a broader commitment to progressive policies.
Legislative Priorities and Bipartisanship
As a member of the California Legislative Problem Solvers Caucus, Valladares has been actively involved in promoting bipartisan solutions. The caucus includes 13 Republicans and 13 Democrats, and their current focus is on affordability. Valladares expressed pride in the progress made so far, particularly with a priority bill aimed at reducing gasoline prices.
“I’m very proud to say that our priority bill has made its way to the Senate,” she explained. “It’s going to cut gasoline prices by 30 cents a gallon by allowing a cheaper, cleaner blend to be sold in the state of California.” This initiative is especially relevant for the Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys, which are commuter communities where fuel costs significantly impact daily life.
In addition to her work on affordability, Valladares serves on several legislative committees, including those focused on health, governmental organization, transportation, and judiciary issues. Her diverse portfolio allows her to contribute to a wide range of policy discussions and advocate for meaningful change.
Preparing for Major Events
Another key area of focus for Valladares is the state’s role in hosting major international events. As a member of the California Senate Special Committee on International Sporting Events, she has been working to ensure the state is ready to welcome the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl LXI in 2027, and the 2028 Summer Olympics.
“It’s an important time,” she said. “Having a voice that’s looking out not just for the people living here in L.A. during these games, but the businesses and how it impacts tourism and hotels is vitally important.”
Community Connection and Future Goals
Valladares took the opportunity to thank the many local leaders and representatives who attended the event, including staff from Rep. George Whitesides’ and Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s offices, as well as members of the SCV Chamber of Commerce and College of the Canyons.
She encouraged attendees to take advantage of the open house and reach out to her and her team anytime. “We have always been open for business,” she said in closing remarks. “But now we have a physical place where our community can come and work with their state legislator on the issues important to them.”
Valladares’ Valencia office is located at 25060 W. Avenue Stanford, Suite 130. Residents can contact the office at 661-257-1204 or visit SR23.senate.ca.gov for more information.
