Trump says Epstein 'stole' women from Mar-a-Lago spa: 'Taking my workers is wrong'

President Trump Reveals More About His Conflict with Jeffrey Epstein
During a recent press briefing, former U.S. President Donald Trump provided further details about his falling out with the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who had ties to numerous high-profile individuals. Trump disclosed that Epstein used the spa at Mar-a-Lago, the exclusive club owned by the former president, as a place to target young women.
“I have a great spa, one of the best spas in the world, at Mar-a-Lago,” Trump stated while returning from a five-day trip to Scotland. “And people were taken out of the spa, hired by him. When I heard about it, I told him, ‘Listen, we don’t want you taking our people,’ whether it was spa or not spa, I don’t want him taking people.”
Trump emphasized that he had initially allowed Epstein to use the spa but later decided to expel him after learning that Epstein had been luring employees away from the club. He recounted the incident on Air Force One, stating that after Epstein repeated the behavior, he gave him an ultimatum.
The Role of Virginia Giuffre
One of the victims linked to Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell was Virginia Giuffre, who gained international attention when she claimed to have had sexual relations with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, at the age of 17. Trump mentioned that Giuffre had worked at the Mar-a-Lago spa and was one of the individuals Epstein allegedly took from the club.
“She worked at the spa. I think that was one of the people. Yeah, he stole her,” Trump said. Giuffre, who passed away in April, had previously accused Epstein of abuse and had filed a defamation lawsuit against Maxwell in 2017, which she won for an undisclosed amount. In 2022, she settled another defamation case involving former Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz, where she admitted she might have made a mistake in identifying him as one of her abusers.
Legal and Public Scrutiny
Trump has faced significant backlash over his connections with Epstein following the release of a July 6 memo from the Justice Department and FBI. The document suggested that Epstein most likely took his own life and did not possess a list of powerful individuals who engaged in sexual activities with minors.
In response to the controversy, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche met with Ghislaine Maxwell for two days of questioning. Her legal team has since sought a pardon or commutation of her sentence from the president. However, Trump denied any such requests during a recent press conference, stating, “Nobody’s approached me with it. Nobody’s asked me about it.”
Trump's Stance on Epstein and His Island
Throughout the press availability, Trump also addressed his relationship with Epstein, admitting that he avoided contact with the financier for years due to inappropriate behavior. He specifically mentioned that he never visited Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, known as Little Saint James, where much of the alleged abuse occurred.
“I never had the privilege of going to his island — and I did turn it down, but a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island,” Trump explained. He added that he had turned down the invitation during one of his “very good moments” and did not wish to go to Epstein’s property.
Ongoing Investigations and Public Concerns
The revelations about Trump’s interactions with Epstein have sparked renewed interest in the ongoing investigations into the financier’s activities. While Trump maintains that he had no direct involvement in the abuses, the allegations continue to raise questions about the extent of his knowledge and the potential influence of powerful figures in the case.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the public remains attentive to how these events will be resolved and what they reveal about the broader network of individuals associated with Epstein. The story continues to evolve, drawing attention from media outlets and legal experts alike.
