His motorcade was photographed escorting him to the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. However, instead of preparing for this critical meeting, Trump chose to spend Saturday playing golf.

According to reports, Trump has spent 20 percent of his second term playing golf, making time for rounds whenever possible. Vice President JD Vance has also been seen on the golf course recently, though he faced some embarrassment at Trump's Turnberry course in Scotland.

Before his upcoming meeting with Zelensky, Trump urged the Ukrainian President to reach an agreement with Putin. He insisted that Putin is eager to end the war, despite conflicting claims. “Now it's really up to President Zelensky to get it done,” Trump said on FOX News. “And I would also say the European nations, they have to get involved a little bit.”

In addition to Trump’s diplomatic efforts, First Lady Melania Trump played a role in the negotiations. She wrote a letter to Putin, advocating for the safety of millions of children at risk. The letter was personally delivered to Putin in Alaska, and a copy was obtained by FOX News.

“We must strive to paint a dignity-filled world for all - so that every soul may wake to peace, and so that the future itself is perfectly guarded,” the letter read. “A simple yet profound concept, Mr. Putin, as I am sure you agree, is that each generation's descendants begin their lives with a purity - an innocence which stands above geography, government, and ideology.”

The letter was well received by Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, who expressed gratitude on social media. “The return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia should be a key condition for any peace agreement,” he posted.
