Trump Reveals Fallout with Epstein Over Spa Staffers from Mar-a-Lago

Trump's Confirmation of Epstein's Recruitment of Mar-a-Lago Employees
President Donald Trump confirmed that "young women" who worked at his Mar-a-lago golf resort were recruited away from their jobs by Jeffrey Epstein. This revelation came during an interview aboard Air Force One as he returned to the United States from a trip to Scotland. When asked if the stolen workers included young women, Trump responded, “The answer is yes.”
He continued, “Well, I don't want to say, but everyone knows the people that were taken.” Trump was referring to the spa staff at Mar-a-Lago, where he claimed individuals were taken by Epstein. “I had a great spa, one of the best spas in the world, at Mar-a-Lago. And people were taken out of the spa, hired by him. In other words, gone, and other people would come and complain, ‘this guy is taking people from the spa.’ I didn't know that,” Trump said.
Trump added that when he learned about the situation, he confronted Epstein. “And then when I heard about it, I told him, I said, ‘Listen, we don't want you taking our people,’ whether it was spa or not spa. I don't want him taking people. And he was fine. And then not too long after that, he did it again. And I said, out of here.”
This statement followed previous comments made by Trump in Turnberry, where he mentioned that Epstein “stole people that worked for me” during their friendship in the early 2000s. Trump also addressed Virginia Giuffre, who accused Epstein and his associates of sexually abusing her. Giuffre, who died by suicide earlier this year, had alleged she worked at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort before being recruited as a sixteen-year-old to serve as Epstein’s “masseuse” by his girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell.
When asked if Giuffre worked at the resort before being taken by Epstein, Trump initially said, “I don’t know,” before confirming, “Yeah, he stole her.” He added, “And by the way, she had no complaints about us as, you know, none whatsoever.”
The Complex Legacy of Jeffrey Epstein
Trump was one of many influential figures connected to Epstein over the years. A 2002 New York Magazine report detailed Epstein’s relationships with Trump, the Clintons, Nobel Prize-winning scientists, and powerful business leaders. Their relationship soured around 2004, which Trump discussed during a meeting in Scotland with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
“That’s such old history,” Trump said. “Very easy to explain, but I don’t want to waste your time by explaining it. But for years, I wouldn’t talk to Jeffrey Epstein … because he did something that was inappropriate. He hired help. And I said, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’ He stole people that worked for me. I said, ‘Don’t never do that again.’ He did it again. And I threw him out of the place, persona non grata."
Speculation and Unverified Claims
Epstein’s identity has been the subject of speculation for decades. Some believe he was a serial sex trafficker and pedophile, while others suggest he had ties to the intelligence community, including the CIA or Mossad. These allegations, though unverified, have resurfaced recently, with some Trump-adjacent figures like Steve Bannon raising them.
Giuffre, who alleged Epstein groomed her to perform sexual services for global figures such as Prince Andrew, also claimed he was a government agent. She wrote in 2023, “I think a strong argument can be made Epstein was indeed an Intelligence agent who helped run a blackmail/honey pot operation (that is most likely still running to this day).”
Legal Proceedings and Political Accusations
During Epstein’s 2019 trial, prosecutors alleged he used a foreign passport under an alias, acquired from Austria in the 1980s, with Saudi Arabia listed as his country of residency. They stated he used the passport and a personal protection team while traveling in the Middle East due to concerns about kidnapping and terrorism.
Critics have accused the Trump administration of delaying the release of federal files related to Epstein’s case, claiming they could clarify his identity and address speculation about his involvement in a shadowy deep state operation. Trump and his Justice Department are said to be shielding these files, as they may contain damaging details about his relationship with Epstein.
The Epstein Saga as a Political Narrative
Trump has repeatedly dismissed the Epstein saga as a hoax orchestrated by Democrats to undermine his administration. He suggested that narratives about the files were created by former Attorney General Merrick Garland and former FBI director James Comey, accusing them of running the files for four years. “The whole thing is a hoax. They ran the files. I was running against somebody that ran the files. If they had something they would have released.”
