The UAE state-owned newspaper The National conducted searches using the new product and found that the AI-generated answers tended to source conservative-leaning media outlets.

When reporters asked about the state of the American economy, the search engine responded that it was "currently facing significant headwinds, with signs of slowdown." Further questioning about the impact of the president's international tariffs led to a response indicating that recent tariff increases had generally had a negative effect on economic growth and employment.

Perplexity, the company behind the AI technology used in Truth Search AI, is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2022. It positions itself as the world's first "answer engine," focusing on providing direct summaries of information rather than just listing links. This approach has garnered attention and controversy.
