Trump Claims Epstein 'Stole' Virginia Giuffre and Young Women from Mar-a-Lago Spa

Trump's Comments on Epstein and the Spa Workers
During a press briefing on Air Force One, former President Donald Trump made several statements regarding his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and the allegations involving individuals who worked at the spa within his Mar-a-Lago club. Trump claimed that Epstein "stole" young women from the spa, suggesting that these individuals were taken away and subsequently hired by Epstein.
Trump explained that people were taken out of the spa and employed by Epstein, stating, "In other words, gone." He mentioned that others would come to complain about Epstein taking individuals from the spa. However, Trump admitted he was unaware of the situation initially, saying, "I didn't know that." He then recalled telling Epstein, "Listen, we don't want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa."
The former president also described how Epstein continued to take people despite being warned, leading to his eventual removal. "And he was fine. And then not too long after that, he did it again and I said, 'out of here,'" Trump added.
Giuffre and the Allegations
When asked if one of the women taken was Virginia Giuffre, an accuser of Epstein who passed away in 2021, Trump responded, "I don't know. I think she worked at the spa, I think so, I think that was one of the people. Yeah, he stole her." He further stated that Giuffre had no complaints about the club, noting, "she had no complaints about us, none whatsoever."
Giuffre had previously accused Ghislaine Maxwell of recruiting her when she was 17 years old while working as a locker-room attendant at Mar-a-Lago in 2000. She was allegedly brought to Epstein's home for a massage. Maxwell has denied these allegations.
Trump’s comments represent some of the most detailed public statements he has made about his falling out with Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. At the time of Epstein's arrest, Trump claimed they hadn’t spoken in 15 years.
The Discrepancy in Reasons for Epstein's Removal
There appeared to be a discrepancy in the reasons for Epstein's removal from Trump's club. Earlier, White House communications director Steven Cheung stated that Epstein was kicked out "for being a creep." However, Trump recently framed their falling out as a result of Epstein poaching employees after being warned not to.
When questioned about this inconsistency, Trump insisted that both reasons were essentially the same. "You know, it's sort of a little bit of the same thing," he said. "But no, he took people that work for me, and I told him, 'don't do it anymore.' And he did it. I said, 'stay the hell out of here.'"
The Broader Context of Epstein's Allegations
Trump was asked during the briefing if any of the workers taken from the club were young women. He responded, "Well, I don't want to say, but everyone knows the people that were taken. And it was the concept of taking people that work for me is bad. But that story has been pretty well out there. And the answer is yes, they were."
This statement highlights the broader context of the allegations surrounding Epstein and the individuals involved. It also underscores the ongoing scrutiny of Epstein's actions and the impact they have had on those connected to him.
Ghislaine Maxwell and the Pardon Debate
Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate of Epstein, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking. She has been publicly lobbying for a pardon, seeking the opportunity to testify openly before the House Oversight Committee. Maxwell appealed to Congress on Tuesday, requesting the chance to provide testimony "openly and honestly."
Her attorney, David Markus, expressed hope that Trump would use his authority in a "right and just way." However, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has not disclosed the details of their meeting, stating that he would do so at the "appropriate time." Maxwell was granted limited immunity to speak with Blanche, according to sources.
Trump's Stance on a Potential Pardon
President Trump has left open the possibility of a pardon for Maxwell, stating that he has the authority to do so but has not been formally asked. "It's in the news, that -- that aspect of it. But right now, it would be inappropriate to talk about it," Trump said. This statement reflects the ongoing debate over the potential for clemency in cases involving high-profile figures like Maxwell.
