Talamasca: The Hidden Order — Unveiling the Anne Rice Immortal Universe Spinoff

Expansion of the Anne Rice Immortal Universe
The Anne Rice Immortal Universe is growing with a new addition on AMC. Known for its portrayal of witches and vampires, the network is now introducing a new spinoff titled Talamasca: The Secret Order. This series will focus on the enigmatic, centuries-old organization dedicated to studying paranormal phenomena and protecting those in need.
In the world created by Anne Rice, The Talamasca has existed for centuries, operating from the shadows with the motto, "We watch and we are always there." The group plays a significant role in all of Rice's books and is even more prominent in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe. While the Motherhouse is located in England, branches of the organization exist worldwide, with the New Orleans branch often dealing with both vampires and witches.
Although no crossovers between the shows have been officially announced, it's possible that characters from other series could appear in Talamasca in the future.
Release Date and Availability
The first season of Talamasca: The Secret Order consists of six episodes and began filming in fall 2024, with a planned release in 2025. Production took place in Manchester, England. John Lee Hancock, known for The Blind Side, and Mark Lafferty, who worked on The Right Stuff and Halt and Catch Fire, serve as co-showrunners, with Hancock also directing.
The show is set to premiere on October 26, 2025, on AMC and AMC Plus. AMC is typically included with a standard cable subscription, but viewers without cable can access it through live TV streaming services like YouTube TV, Fubo TV, and Sling TV. AMC Plus offers an additional option, available as an add-on channel on Prime Video, Apple TV Plus, or Roku. Subscribers can watch content on computers or mobile devices, and one of the benefits of an AMC Plus subscription is the ability to view new episodes before their official premiere.
Premise of the Series
From the AMC press release, Talamasca: The Secret Order features the individuals responsible for tracking and containing witches, vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural beings around the globe. Members of The Talamasca have appeared in previous series such as Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, expressed excitement about the series, noting that it focuses on a fascinating secret society already present in the existing Anne Rice series.
John Lee Hancock shared his initial reaction to the project, highlighting the idea of an organization similar to the CIA or MI6, which operates with its own secrets. Mark Lafferty joined the project after hearing the pitch, expressing admiration for Hancock's work and enthusiasm for collaborating on the series.
Mark Johnson, the creative head of the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, noted that Talamasca would bring a different kind of show to the franchise while still fitting under the Anne Rice umbrella.
