A suspect allegedly involved in a sexual battery on a University of Utah campus shuttle bus has been taken into custody. This development comes after the Salt Lake City Police Department located the individual off-campus and handed him over to the University of Utah Police Department for arrest. Descriptions of the suspect include a black male with dreadlocks, wearing black pants, a bright blue jacket, and a grey t-shirt, along with carrying three shopping bags. He is estimated to be between 22 and 28 years old, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing around 160 pounds with a thin build.
The victim, who was an employee at the university, reportedly experienced unwanted touching multiple times during the incident. The suspect left the shuttle bus near Ft. Douglas Blvd. and Pollock Road, heading north around 11:20 a.m. According to Reuban Torres of the University of Utah Police Department, the suspect was not a student or staff member and may be homeless.
