Superman Actor Joins ICE to 'Save America' and Calls for Sign-Ups

Dean Cain Joins ICE, Encourages Others to Follow Suit
Former Superman actor Dean Cain has made a surprising career shift by joining the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In a social media video, he shared his decision to become a sworn law enforcement officer, highlighting the opportunities available within the agency.
Cain emphasized the benefits of working with ICE, including student loan repayment programs and a $50,000 signing bonus. He stated, “I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it. So I joined up.”
He encouraged others to consider applying for positions at the agency, saying, “If you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America's streets. They need your help, we need your help, to protect our homeland for families. Join today if it’s something that tickles your fancy because we can use you.”
Cain, who portrayed Superman on television between 1993 and 1997, praised the work of ICE under the Trump administration. He credited the agency with taking “terrorists, rapists, murderers, paedophiles, MS-13 gang members [and] drug traffickers” off the streets of America.
This announcement comes during an active recruitment drive by the Department of Homeland Security. The goal is to attract more individuals to join ICE, with a focus on increasing the number of agents and officers. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem recently announced that age limits for new applicants would be waived to encourage more “patriots” to join the agency.
Noem also released a statement urging Americans to serve in ICE, saying, “Your country is calling you to serve at ICE… Together, we must defend the homeland.” The agency is reportedly seeking to fill 14,000 roles, including 10,000 new “deportation agent” vacancies.
Despite these efforts, ICE has faced increased scrutiny following a series of immigration raids in Los Angeles. These actions led to protests in the city, which is home to over one million undocumented migrants. Similar demonstrations have occurred in other major cities like New York City, Chicago, and Boston. Prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including Kim Kardashian, Cardi B, and Jimmy Kimmel, have voiced their concerns.
Since Trump returned to the White House in January, ICE has made over 109,000 arrests. Cain’s announcement on social media sparked mixed reactions. Some users criticized him, with one commenting, “Shame on you Dean — that's the most un-Superman thing you could possibly advocate.” However, others supported him, with one user stating, “You really are Superman - that is so cool.”
Cain’s decision to join ICE highlights the ongoing debate around immigration enforcement and the role of law enforcement in protecting national security. His public endorsement of the agency underscores the importance of diverse perspectives in shaping policies that affect communities across the country.
