Rock Brotherhood Tour Arrives at Pine Knob

A Night of Classic Rock at the Brotherhood of Rock Tour 2025

The Brotherhood of Rock Tour 2025 brought together fans of classic rock for an unforgettable evening at Pine Knob on Saturday, August 16. With around 9,000 attendees in attendance, the concert was a celebration of enduring music that resonated with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

The lineup featured three iconic acts: Styx, the Kevin Cronin band (formerly REO Speedwagon), and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder. Each act brought their own unique flair and energy to the stage, ensuring that the night was filled with high-octane performances and nostalgic moments.

Don Felder Delivers a Stellar Performance

Don Felder took the stage first, delivering a set that highlighted his deep connection to the Eagles’ legacy. His performance included pristine renditions of some of the band’s most beloved songs, such as “Already Gone,” “One of These Nights,” and “Take It Easy.” He also performed “Heartache Tonight,” a Bob Seger co-written track, and the legendary “Hotel California.”

In addition to these hits, Felder showcased material from his new album, “The Vault,” including “Hollywood Victim” and a fresh take on his title track contribution to the 1981 animated film “Heavy Metal.” He also played Steve Young’s “Seven Bridges Road,” a song that the Eagles famously performed, adding a touch of authenticity to his set.

Kevin Cronin and the New Kevin Cronin Band

Kevin Cronin, the longtime frontman of REO Speedwagon, took the stage next. Although he had to give up the REO Speedwagon name due to legal reasons, he led his newly minted band through a powerful performance. The set focused heavily on the band’s Diamond-certified 1980 album “Hi Infidelity,” which he performed in its entirety.

Cronin also played other fan favorites, including “Keep Pushin’,” “Time For Me to Fly,” “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” and “Roll With the Changes.” His energetic presence was matched by the talent of Detroit native Matt Bissonnette on bass. Cronin also paid tribute to past bandmates, including the late guitarist Gary Richrath, and highlighted REO’s performance at the Live Aid Philadelphia concert in 1985.

Styx Closes the Night with Energy and Precision

Styx closed the show with a performance that showcased their signature energy and tight musicianship. They delivered a string of hits from their triple-platinum 1977 album “The Grand Illusion,” including “Too Much Time on My Hands” and “Blue Collar Man (Long Nights).” They also performed “Build and Destroy” from their new album, “Circling From Above.”

Original bassist Chuck Panozzo joined the band for several tracks, including “Lady,” and during the encore, they played “Mr. Roboto” and “Renegade.” The group’s ability to connect with the audience was evident as they threw guitar picks into the crowd, creating a memorable and interactive experience.

Highlights from the Evening

Throughout the night, the energy on stage was infectious, and the audience responded with enthusiasm. The concert not only celebrated the music of the past but also highlighted the continued relevance of these classic rock acts. Each performer brought their own unique style while honoring the legacy of the bands they were part of.

From Felder’s tribute to the Eagles to Cronin’s heartfelt performances and Styx’s electrifying set, the Brotherhood of Rock Tour 2025 proved to be a night that will be remembered by all who attended. It was a testament to the timeless appeal of classic rock and the enduring power of live music.
