Recent Traffic Accidents in San Diego County

Authorities have released the names of nine individuals who lost their lives in recent traffic accidents across San Diego County, with four of them involved in a tragic incident on State Route 67. These events highlight the ongoing concerns about road safety and the need for continued awareness and caution on local highways.

Fiery Three-Car Collision in Poway

The first fatality was identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday. Roberto Martinez Oros, 68, was driving a sedan on SR-67 when a truck crossed into oncoming traffic at high speed, colliding with his Honda Civic. The collision then caused another truck to crash into the vehicle from behind. Oros died at the scene. While the medical examiner has confirmed this death, the identities of the other four individuals killed in the same accident have not yet been released.

Death on Buena Creek Road in Vista

Another tragic incident occurred early Sunday when Maxwell F. Rouette, 27, was found lying along a pedestrian path on Buena Creek Road in Vista. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Although his residence is unknown, it is believed that he was struck by a car.

Vehicle Overturned on State Route 78

On Saturday shortly before 2 a.m., a vehicle overturned on State Route 78 near North Las Posas Road in San Marcos. A passenger in the car, Caden Chaz Garcia, 19, of San Marcos, died at the scene.

Freeway Crash in San Diego

At approximately 11:45 p.m. on July 15, Carlos Torres Castillo, 21, a San Diego resident, lost control of his vehicle while driving westbound on Interstate 8 east of Taylor Street. His car crashed over the center divider and onto the eastbound lanes of the freeway. Doctors later pronounced him dead at Scripps Mercy Hospital.

Motorcycle Crash in Santee

A Riverside County man, Dylan Thomas Clark, 27, of Menifee, died in a motorcycle crash on SR-67 in Santee. According to the medical examiner, Clark was riding south shortly before 9 p.m. on July 14 when he collided with a pickup truck south of Riverford Road. He was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, where doctors declared him dead.

Vehicle Crash in Kearny Villa Road

On the evening of July 13, Aeriel C. Suarez, 22, of San Diego, was driving a vehicle that veered off the street in the 8500 block of Kearny Villa Road and crashed into a tree. Paramedics transported him to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he was pronounced dead at around 10 p.m.

Body Found in a Crashed Vehicle

Also on July 13, the body of Stewart B. Jabro, 48, of El Cajon, was discovered in a vehicle that had crashed down a roadside embankment in the 16300 block of Skyline Truck Trail in Jamul. The time of the accident remains unknown, according to the medical examiner.

Driver Struck a Tree on SR-67

On the afternoon of July 12, Daniel W. Richards, 78, of Santa Ysabel, was driving a northbound sedan on SR-67 near Shady Bend in Ramona when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Doctors pronounced him dead at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido at about 5 p.m., roughly 3 1/2 hours after the accident.

Tragic Incident on SR-67

Three days earlier, a collision on the same highway claimed the life of Jay M. Tharani, 35, of Ramona. He was behind the wheel of a sedan that collided with an SUV in the 18000 block of SR-67 shortly before 6 p.m. on July 9. Tharani died at the scene.
