Exciting New Adaptation of Pride and Prejudice Unveiled
Production has officially begun on a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved classic, Pride and Prejudice. This six-part series is being directed by Euros Lyn, known for his work on Heartstopper, and adapted by bestselling author Dolly Alderton. The project promises to bring a fresh perspective to one of literature’s most iconic stories.
A Star-Studded Cast
The series features an impressive ensemble cast that includes Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin, who will portray Elizabeth Bennet, the spirited and intelligent protagonist. Jack Lowden, a BAFTA winner, will play the enigmatic Mr. Darcy, while Olivia Colman, an Oscar and Emmy winner, takes on the role of Mrs. Bennet. These three actors alone add immense prestige to the production.
Other notable cast members include Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, and Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet. Newcomers Hollie Avery and Hopey Parish will make their debuts in the roles of Kitty and Mary Bennet, respectively. Louis Partridge will play Mr. Wickham, while Jamie Demetriou brings his comedic talent to the character of Mr. Collins. Fiona Shaw, known for her powerful performances, will take on the role of Lady Catherine de Bourg.

The Storyline
Based on Jane Austen’s original novel, the limited series follows the Bennet sisters as they navigate the challenges of finding suitable marriages in 19th-century England. At the center of the story is Elizabeth Bennet, whose sharp wit and independence often clash with the proud and wealthy Mr. Darcy. Their initial misunderstandings and personal biases lead to tension, but as events unfold, both characters must confront their own pride and prejudice to truly understand each other.
Behind the Scenes
Dolly Alderton, the writer and executive producer, is working alongside Euros Lyn, who serves as director. The production team also includes Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter from Lookout Point. Emma Corrin is making her debut as an executive producer on this project. Lisa Osborne, known for her work on Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, is the producer of the series.
