Police Release Suspect Photo in Arkansas Devil's Den Murders Investigation

Arkansas Police Release Photo in Search for Suspect in Tragic Park Killing
Arkansas authorities have released a photo of a man they are seeking for questioning in connection with the tragic killing of a married couple at Devil’s Den State Park. The incident occurred over the weekend, and the image provided by state police does not show the man's face. This comes after police previously released a composite sketch of a person of interest. Despite ongoing efforts, details about the attack—such as how the couple was killed or the motive behind the crime—remain limited.
Details About the Attack Remain Unclear
Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were found dead on a walking trail Saturday at Devil’s Den, a 2,500-acre state park located in northwest Arkansas. Their two daughters, aged 7 and 9, were unharmed and are currently being cared for by family members, according to authorities. While the exact method of the couple’s deaths has not been disclosed, police indicated on Monday night that the killer may have been injured during the attack.
Authorities have asked the public to come forward with any information and have urged individuals who were at Devil’s Den on Saturday to review their photos and videos for potential images of the suspect. Although law enforcement has received “numerous calls,” they have shared few specific details about the investigation, including whether they believe the killer is still in the area.
The FBI’s Little Rock field office has confirmed its involvement in assisting with the case.
Description of the Suspect Released
Although the killer has not been identified, police have provided a description of the suspect, along with a composite sketch and a photo of a person of interest. The photo was provided by a witness who was at Devil’s Den on Saturday. However, the image was taken from behind and does not reveal the individual’s face.
According to officials, the suspect is described as a white male wearing dark shorts, a dark ball cap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves. He was seen driving toward a park exit in a black, four-door sedan with a license plate partially covered by tape. The vehicle, possibly a Mazda, may have been traveling on nearby State Highway 170 or State Highway 220.
Victims Had Recently Moved to Arkansas
Clinton and Cristen Brink had recently relocated from South Dakota to Prairie Grove, a small city in northwest Arkansas. Their water service had been connected less than two weeks ago, according to Mayor David Faulk. Clinton Brink was scheduled to start a job as a milk delivery driver on Monday in the Fayetteville area, as reported by Hiland Dairy, his employer. Cristen Brink had worked as a nurse in Montana and South Dakota before moving to Arkansas.
In a statement, the Brink family expressed their grief and called for justice: “Clinton and Cristen died heroes protecting their little girls, and they deserve justice. They will forever live in all of our hearts.”
Public Asked to Help with Investigation
In addition to reviewing photos and videos from the day of the attack, police are asking local residents to check security or game camera footage for any unusual activity or images that match the suspect’s vehicle. Devil’s Den State Park is known for its hiking trails and rock formations, and it is located near the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and Walmart’s Bentonville headquarters.
As of Tuesday, the park’s trails remained closed, and rangers have increased patrols following the incident.
