Police Release Suspect Photo in Devil's Den Killings Investigation

Arkansas Police Release Photo of Suspect in Tragic Park Killing
Authorities in Arkansas have released a photo of a man they are seeking for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting of a married couple at Devil’s Den State Park. The incident occurred over the weekend, and the victims were found on a walking trail with their two young daughters present. The couple, Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were discovered dead on Saturday, while their children, aged 7 and 9, remained unharmed.
Police have not yet disclosed the exact cause of the couple's deaths or provided a motive for the attack. However, they have indicated that the killer may have been injured during the incident. Despite this, the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information.
Composite Sketch and Photo Released
In addition to the photo, state police also released a composite sketch of a person of interest. The image shows a white male wearing a long-sleeved shirt with sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark ball cap, and sunglasses. He was seen carrying a black backpack and wearing fingerless gloves. The suspect was reportedly driving a black, four-door sedan with a license plate partially covered by tape.
The car may be a Mazda, and it is believed to have been traveling along nearby State Highway 170 or State Highway 220. The photo was provided by a witness who was at the park on the day of the attack, though it only captures the individual from behind and does not show their face.
FBI Assists in Investigation
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed that its Little Rock field office is assisting with the investigation. Authorities have asked the public to report any tips or information that could help identify the suspect. Additionally, they are asking trailgoers who were at Devil’s Den on Saturday to review their photos and videos for possible images of the suspect.
Despite receiving numerous calls, law enforcement has shared few details about the case, including whether they believe the suspect is still in the area. This lack of information has left many residents and local communities concerned.
Victims Had Recently Moved to Arkansas
Clinton and Cristen Brink had recently relocated from South Dakota to Prairie Grove, a small city in northwest Arkansas. Their water service had been activated less than two weeks prior to the incident, according to Mayor David Faulk. Clinton had been scheduled to begin a new job as a milk delivery driver in Fayetteville, while Cristen had worked as a nurse in Montana and South Dakota before moving to Arkansas.
The Brink family expressed their grief and called for justice for the couple, describing them as heroes who protected their daughters. They stated, “Clinton and Cristen died heroes protecting their little girls, and they deserve justice. They will forever live in all of our hearts.”
Public Appeal for Assistance
Devil’s Den State Park, located near West Fork, approximately 140 miles northwest of Little Rock, is known for its hiking trails and rock formations. It is a short drive from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and Walmart’s Bentonville headquarters. Following the attack, the park’s trails remain closed, and rangers have increased patrols in the area.
Authorities are also asking local residents to check security and game camera footage for any unusual activity or images matching the suspect’s vehicle. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local law enforcement immediately.
