New Details Emerge in Arkansas Hikers' Double-Homicide Case

Details Emerge in the Tragic Hiking Deaths in Arkansas
As law enforcement continues to search for the individual suspected of killing a couple while they were hiking with their two young daughters in an Arkansas park, new details about the suspect’s condition and recent images have been released. These updates are part of ongoing efforts to locate the perpetrator behind the tragic incident.
Arkansas State Police have shared a photo and sketch of a man who investigators want to question in connection with the killings of Clinton David Brink, 53, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41. The couple's remains were discovered on a walking trail in Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday afternoon, triggering a widespread search for the person responsible.
In a press release issued on July 28, police indicated that the suspect "likely sustained an injury while attacking the couple." This revelation adds another layer to the investigation, suggesting the suspect may have been injured during the attack, which could provide clues about the circumstances of the crime.
Authorities previously described the suspect as a white male with a medium build. He was reportedly wearing a long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, a ballcap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves at the time of the crime. Additionally, he was seen carrying a black backpack. The suspect was driving a black, four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate that appeared to be covered by electrical or duct tape. The vehicle is believed to have been traveling along either State Highway 170 or State Highway 220.
What Happened to the Brinks?
Clinton and Cristen Brink were hiking with their daughters, who are 7 and 9 years old, on the afternoon of Saturday, July 26, when they were attacked and killed. Fortunately, the two girls were unharmed and are now in the care of relatives, according to Arkansas State Police.
The victims’ family has requested privacy during this difficult time and asked anyone with information about the case to reach out to the authorities. In a statement released on July 28, they said, “Clinton and Cristen died heroes, protecting their little girls and they deserve justice.” The family also expressed that the couple will live on in the hearts of those who knew them.
The Brinks had recently moved from their home in South Dakota to Prairie Grove, Arkansas. According to the Associated Press, they had just turned on water services in their new home on July 16. Prairie Grove mayor David Faulk commented on the tragedy, stating, “To the surviving family members, our prayers go out to you. We pray your family is provided with quick justice and closure from this terrible tragedy.”
Clinton was set to begin his new job as a milk delivery driver for Hiland Dairy in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Monday, July 28, as reported by the AP.
Park Closure and Ongoing Investigation
Devil’s Den State Park, which typically offers trails for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, has been closed until further notice as authorities continue to investigate the deaths of the Brinks. The closure is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of visitors and allow investigators to gather evidence without interference.
