A New Chapter for Micromilspec

Micromilspec has carved out a unique niche in the world of horology, known for its precision and dedication to crafting timepieces for elite military units and first responders. Established in 2019, the Norwegian brand quickly gained recognition by securing its first military contract shortly after its founding. This initial success led to the creation of custom watches for various militaries around the globe, including France and the United States.

While most of Micromilspec’s work remains behind the scenes, the brand made a significant impact in the watch enthusiast community when it launched the Milgraph. This model was inspired by over 40 custom military projects and was designed as the ultimate tool watch for special forces. Unlike many of Micromilspec’s other creations, the Milgraph is available to the public, making it a standout in the market.

The original Milgraph featured a sandblasted titanium case, an integrated rubber strap, a matte-black grain-textured dial, and an orange-tipped GMT hand. It drew comparisons to the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Everest Editions, two of the most sought-after tool watches ever made. The Milgraph became a viral hit within the watch community, solidifying Micromilspec's reputation as a brand to watch.

A Fresh Look with the Milgraph White Dial

In what has become a growing trend in the watch world, Micromilspec has introduced a new version of the Milgraph with a white dial. This update enhances the watch's visual appeal while maintaining the original design elements that made the Milgraph so popular.

The white dial retains the bright orange accents, which look even more striking against the clean white backdrop. The name "Milgraph" and the tips of the chronograph seconds and GMT hands all appear in hi-vis orange, adding a dynamic contrast. The rest of the watch remains unchanged, preserving its impressive features.

The 42 x 15mm case is crafted from microblasted Grade 5 titanium, offering both lightness and durability. The heavily guarded screw-down crown is positioned on the left side of the case to prevent discomfort during use. It also includes a red inner portion to indicate when it is unscrewed, ensuring the watch maintains its 200m water resistance.

Enhanced Functionality and Design

The 60-minute bezel is unidirectional and features four large indents for easier turning while wearing gloves. Micromilspec refers to this as the QuadGrip bezel, which not only improves functionality but also enhances the watch's visual similarity to the Overseas Everest.

The integrated textured rubber strap looks exceptional, and while white is the standard option for the white dial, the watch is also available on a black or orange rubber strap. The dial’s luminescence is provided by Super-LumiNova X1 on the hands and indices, offering some of the brightest lume available.

Powering the Milgraph is a Swiss-made La Joux-Perret LJP L121 automatic chronograph GMT movement. This movement combines the functionality of both Vacheron Everest watches, featuring a GMT complication that tracks a 24-hour inner bezel and a chronograph that can measure up to 12 hours. The subdials for chronograph hours, minutes, and running seconds are clearly labeled for practicality. The movement is regulated to +/- 4 seconds per day and has a 60-hour power reserve.

Pricing and Availability

The Milgraph White Dial is priced at $3,850 and is now available on Micromilspec’s website. This limited edition release is part of a series that will produce 75 pieces annually starting this year. Additionally, the original black version, which was previously limited to 50 pieces, will now be included in the same annual production run.

The white dial was created to celebrate Micromilspec’s return to Geneva Watch Days next month. The brand made its debut at the trade show last year, and this new release marks an exciting step forward for the company.
