A Birthday Celebration in Tuscany

Madonna celebrated her 67th birthday on August 16 with a special trip to Italy, where she spent time with her large family. The event included four of her six children, highlighting the close-knit relationships within the singer’s household.

During the celebration, Madonna was spotted at the historic Palio di Siena horse race in Tuscany, watching the festivities from a balcony alongside her loved ones. Among those present were her son Rocco Ritchie, who turned 25 on August 11, her daughter Lourdes Leon, 28, and her youngest children, the twins Stella and Estere, who are 12 years old. Additionally, her boyfriend Akeem Morris was also in attendance.

The Palio di Siena is a traditional event held twice a year, on July 2 and August 16, with roots tracing back to the 17th century. Each race features 10 horses and riders representing ten of the 17 city wards known as "contrade." The August 16 race is called the "Palio dell'Assunta," honoring the Assumption of Mary. Despite its dramatic nature, the race typically lasts less than 90 seconds, making it an intense and exciting event for spectators.

While Madonna kept her own birthday relatively low-key, she used her son Rocco's milestone celebration as a platform to express her concerns about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. She took to social media with a powerful message urging her followers and fans to support those affected by the conflict, particularly children.

"Politics Cannot affect Change. Only consciousness Can. Therefore I am Reaching out to a Man of God," she wrote. "Today is my Son Rocco's birthday. I feel the best gift I can give to him as a Mother – is to ask everyone to do what they can to help save the innocent children caught in the crossfire in Gaza."

Madonna emphasized that she was not placing blame or taking sides but rather focusing on the suffering of all involved. "Everyone is suffering. Including the mothers of the hostages. I pray that they are released as well," she continued. "I am merely trying to do what I can to keep these children from dying of starvation."

Madonna welcomed Rocco with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie, and the artist maintains a strong relationship with both parents. When Rocco began his career in the art world, he adopted the pseudonym Maison Rhed to avoid being defined solely by his heritage. This decision allowed him to carve out his own identity in the creative space.

In a recent conversation with the magazine Fantastic Man, Rocco reflected on his affluent background, noting that it often leads to the term "nepo babies." "I always think it's funny that back in the day, some of the most beautiful cathedrals that were ever built would be built by generation after generation of the same family," he said. "And now, if you are born from a family – and I'm not saying this is wrong – you start looking at nepo babies and they are not the most interesting bunch, are they?"

Speaking with Whitewall, Rocco credited his mother for encouraging his creative pursuits. "I've been painting since I was a kid, as you may well know I grew up in a household with creativity on steroids," he noted. "My mum didn't really give us the choice, which I'm so grateful for now, but she made us try all the creative paths."

Rocco recently discussed his experiences as a newcomer to the art world and the challenges of dealing with the paparazzi since childhood during the launch of his exhibition, "The Tourist." His journey reflects the influence of his mother’s artistic legacy and his own determination to establish himself as an independent artist.
