Appearing on her Fox News show My View, she criticized former President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party for what she describes as a failure to address rising crime rates and urban decay.

During the segment, Lara Trump highlighted the actions taken by the Trump administration to combat crime, particularly in Washington, D.C. She emphasized that under President Donald J. Trump, there was a decisive effort to restore order and safety in the nation’s capital. “This week, President Donald J. Trump took bold, decisive action to protect our nation's capital,” she said. “A city that represents our nation to the rest of the world, a city that's fallen to an epidemic of crime and chaos.”

She went on to describe how Trump announced the federalization of the Metropolitan Police Department under the Home Rule Act and the deployment of the National Guard to bring law and order back to the city. “He announced a historic action to rescue our nation's capital from crime, bloodshed, Bedlam and squalor and worse,” she stated.

Lara Trump also pointed to recent developments, including Attorney General Pam Bondi issuing an executive order to roll back sanctuary protections for illegal immigrants in the district. “Almost instantly, DC Democrat leadership made their priorities crystal clear — a lawsuit to block the administration's orders, not to protect the public, not to stop the violence, simply to protect their own control over a city in crisis,” she said.

The discussion then shifted to broader criticisms of the Democratic Party, with Lara Trump accusing them of allowing cities across the country to deteriorate. “For years, we watched gang activity and homelessness spread through not only DC, but cities across the country,” she said. “How did we get here? Democrats promised compassion and equity while letting our cities crumble.”

She specifically targeted former President Joe Biden, claiming that his policies worsened the situation. “Senator Joe Biden it only got worse, cashless, bail, open air, drug markets and policies more beneficial to suspects than victims,” she said. “Defund the police may have been a slogan, but its impact was deadly serious. Combine that with unchecked illegal immigration and soft on crime prosecutors, you get exactly what we see today, lawlessness.”

In contrast, Lara praised the Trump administration and the Republican Party for offering a different vision. “President Trump and his GOP allies have a different vision, one where our cities are clean, safe and thriving, where criminals are arrested, not coddled, where police officers have the resources, respect, and authority to protect innocent people,” she said. “This isn't just about DC. It's a blueprint for every American city that's been dragged into decline by failed liberal policies.”

Lara Trump has frequently used her platform on My View to support her father-in-law and the broader Republican agenda.
