KPop Demon Hunters' Soundtrack Hits Third Top 10 on Songs Chart

KPop Demon Hunters' Soundtrack Makes Waves on Billboard Charts
Three songs from the soundtrack of Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters" have made it into the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for the first time. This marks a significant milestone in the music industry, especially considering the fictional Saja Boys’ track “Soda Pop” climbed to No. 10 from its previous position at No. 14. The song, performed by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, and samUIL Lee, joins two other hits from the same project: “Your Idol,” currently ranked No. 4, and “Golden,” which is at No. 2.
The success of “Golden” is particularly notable as it recently reached No. 1, making it the first leading single from an all-female K-pop group in the history of the Billboard charts, which spans over six decades. This week, “Golden” holds the No. 2 spot with impressive numbers: 32.8 million streams, 11.6 million radio impressions, and 7,000 sales. The track was released in June and has since become a standout hit, contributing to the film's popularity as Netflix's most successful original animated project ever.
Notably, “KPop Demon Hunters” is only the third soundtrack in Billboard history to have more than three simultaneous top 10 entries, following “Saturday Night Fever” and the Whitney Houston-starring “Waiting To Exhale.” This achievement highlights the cultural impact of the film and its music.
Continued Dominance of Alex Warren
Alex Warren continues to dominate the charts, holding the No. 1 position for the 10th consecutive week. With 23.9 million streams, 74 million radio impressions, and 7,000 units sold, his track remains a powerhouse. This is the first single to achieve 10 weeks at the top since Kendrick Lamar and SZA's “Luther.”
Ravyn Lenae also makes a splash with her new single, “Love Me Not,” which rises from No. 6 to No. 5 on the Hot 100. Lenae describes the retro-pop song as having “undeniable energy” and an “infectious” quality that immediately grabs listeners. Following this success, she will embark on a solo tour before opening for Sabrina Carpenter.
Billboard 200 Highlights
On the Billboard 200, Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” secures its 11th week at No. 1 with 126,000 units sold. The album continues to show strong performance, while several new releases debut in the top 10. Among them are records from Gunna, Machine Gun Kelly, Jonas Brothers, and Japanese kawaii metal band BabyMetal.
Gunna’s “The Last Wun” debuts at No. 3 with 80,000 equivalent album units. Machine Gun Kelly follows closely at No. 4 with “Lost Americana,” marking his seventh top 10 project with 63,000 units sold. Jonas Brothers enter the chart at No. 8 with “Greetings From Your Hometown,” selling 39,000 units.
BabyMetal makes its debut on the Billboard 200 at No. 9 with “Metal Forth,” earning 36,000 units. The album features guest appearances from Spiritbox, Poppy, Slaughter to Prevail, Bloodywood, and Tom Morello. The band recently completed a North American tour and is currently performing in Asia. They will return to the U.S. for a special show at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on November 1.
These developments highlight the evolving landscape of music and the growing influence of diverse genres and artists on the global stage.
