Kevin Feige Unveils 'Avengers: Doomsday' Expanding X-Men and Fantastic Four Worlds

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is Expanding with Excitement
The recent release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps has already made a significant impact at the box office for Marvel Studios. While its financial success is impressive, it's clear that this film is just the beginning of a much larger narrative arc. As fans eagerly anticipate what comes next, the upcoming films are set to take the MCU to new heights.
One of the most anticipated releases is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is expected to be a major commercial success. However, even this film may not match the scale of the next big event in the Marvel universe: Avengers: Doomsday. This film marks the start of the end for the Multiverse saga and is poised to bring together some of the most iconic characters in the franchise.
Kevin Feige, the mastermind behind Marvel’s cinematic universe, has hinted at an exciting development for Avengers: Doomsday. He revealed that the film will feature the convergence of the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and the original X-Men. This collaboration is described as a dream come true for many fans and filmmakers alike.
There have been persistent rumors on social media suggesting that Avengers: Doomsday will take place across three distinct universes: Earth-616, the Fantastic Four's Earth-828, and the universe where Beast and Binary appeared at the end of The Marvels. Feige’s recent comments confirm these theories, especially regarding the Baxter Building from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He mentioned that the building will be much more populated in Doomsday, indicating a greater presence of characters from different universes.
In an interview with Marvel.com, Feige shared his thoughts on how the Fantastic Four will integrate into the Avengers and X-Men storyline:
“That’s always fun. The fun of an Avengers movie is introducing people to each other and seeing how very different personalities get along. In the case of a movie that involves the threat of worlds literally colliding, it’s fun to see them visit each other’s homes. So with the Baxter Building set, let’s say it had four or five people in it at most in the Fantastic Four movie. And it’s got a heck of a lot more people in it [in Doomsday]. It’s a thrill to see that interaction. And it’s surreal for me, who’s been around for 25 years.”
Feige also reflected on the return of the X-Men, a franchise that he helped launch early in his career. He noted that revisiting these characters is a long-held dream that was only recently considered feasible.
“It was another dream that we just didn’t think about for many years. Deadpool & Wolverine scratched the surface of that. And now, we’re really delving into it with Doomsday.”
The announcement of the main cast for Avengers: Doomsday via a warehouse full of chairs surprised many fans. Names like Patrick Stewart, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Alan Cumming were unexpected but welcomed by many. While some speculate that the X-Men might have limited screen time, Feige’s comments suggest that they will play a more significant role than initially thought.
With Avengers: Doomsday set to hit theaters in December, the anticipation is building. Teaser scenes from Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps have already started generating buzz. The coming years promise a resurgence in superhero cinema, with both Marvel and DC delivering high-stakes, action-packed stories that will keep audiences engaged.
As the MCU continues to evolve, fans can expect more crossover events, deeper character exploration, and epic battles that push the boundaries of the multiverse. With each new release, the world of Marvel becomes more interconnected, offering endless possibilities for storytelling and fan excitement.
