A Unique Night Out at ROAR Entertainment Center

ROAR Entertainment Center has quickly become a standout destination in Rock Hill, offering a blend of dining, entertainment, and nostalgia that feels both fresh and familiar. Located at 220 W White St., this spot opened just six months ago and has already made an impression with its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings.

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a sensory overload that is hard to ignore. The space is filled with neon lights, retro arcade machines, and the sounds of classic games echoing through the air. It's a place that feels like a time capsule, yet it also has a modern twist that makes it appealing to a wide range of ages.

Dining at ROAR

The dining experience at ROAR is as varied as the entertainment options. With a menu that includes salads, cauliflower bites, brick oven shareable pizza, and a classic smash burger, there’s something for everyone. One of the highlights is the 'tot'chos, a dish that promises a hearty meal of tater tot nachos. For $18, the portion is substantial and can easily feed a family of three. While the dish didn’t come with everything listed on the online menu, it was still impressive and left me with leftovers to take home.

ROAR also offers a daily happy hour from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., where everything is half-priced. This includes bowling and mini golf, which drop from $15 to $7.50, and all appetizers are also half-priced. Additionally, there’s a deal where kids eat free with the purchase of one adult entree, making it a great option for families.

The staff at ROAR is friendly and welcoming, creating a comfortable environment for guests. Whether you’re sitting at a table, couch seating near the bowling lanes, or bar seating, there’s plenty of space to enjoy your meal.

The Arcade Experience

After dining, many visitors head to the arcade area, which features over 20 game options. From air hockey tables to Dance Dance Revolution stages, there’s something for every gaming preference. The arcade allows customers to either purchase a card with pre-loaded funds or pay by game using their debit card, making it convenient for solo visits or small groups.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the arcade is the variety of games available. I found myself trying my hand at a claw machine, which led to a small victory and some laughter from nearby families. The atmosphere is lively and engaging, making it easy to lose track of time while playing.

Photo Booth and More

Near the entrance of the gaming area, there’s a photo booth that adds an extra layer of fun. For $7, customers can choose any filter they want and receive two printed versions of their photos. It's a simple but memorable addition that enhances the overall experience.

What’s Missing?

While ROAR has a lot to offer, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The advertised 1920s-themed style was not as bold as expected, and the general dining area and arcade felt more trendy than old-fashioned. However, these minor shortcomings don't detract from the overall positive experience.

Final Thoughts

ROAR Entertainment Center is still finding its footing, but the foundation for something truly special is already in place. Whether you're looking to bowl a few frames, play some games, or simply enjoy a large plate of ‘tot'chos, ROAR delivers a good time. It’s a space that encourages play, laughter, and maybe even a little nostalgia—exactly what Rock Hill didn’t know it was missing.
