Legal Developments in Sara Rivers' Lawsuit Against Diddy

Sara Rivers has recently addressed the court's decision to dismiss 21 out of 22 allegations against Sean "Diddy" Combs in her lawsuit. The case, which was filed in February 2025, alleged that she faced sexual harassment and uncomfortable working conditions while involved with the rapper. According to reports, the dismissal came after a legal review by the court, which found that certain claims lacked sufficient evidence.

The Art of Dialogue obtained a video of Sara Rivers from August 16, 2025, where she discussed the court’s ruling. In the video, she emphasized that her fight was not about media attention but rather about seeking truth, accountability, and justice for herself and other survivors who have been told to remain silent. She stated:

“This fight was never about headlines. It’s about truth, accountability, and justice for me, and for every other survivor that has been told that they should just give up. I will not be silenced and I will not be intimidated, and I will see this thing through.”

Rivers also expressed gratitude to those who supported her throughout the process. Her message concluded with a strong statement:

“The journey continues. Oh, and don’t think. Because y’all got all that unlimited amount of baby oil that y’all gonna slide through this. Come on now. And for those that have been trying to defame me with those false stories, the truth will be coming. Best believe that.”

Despite the court’s decision, Diddy or his legal team has not publicly responded to the video as of this writing.

Key Details of the Case

The allegations in Sara Rivers’ lawsuit date back to when she was part of the reality series Making the Band, which eventually led to the formation of the group Da Band. According to USA Today, the legal verdict was issued on August 14, 2025, with the judge dismissing charges related to racketeering, assault and battery, forced labor, and false imprisonment. However, one charge remains: violation of the New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.

Sara Rivers still has the option to file another lawsuit regarding the remaining charge. However, she cannot pursue the other dismissed allegations. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolff, commented on the court’s decision, stating:

“From the outset, we have said these claims were meritless, time-barred, and legally deficient. The Court agreed, finding no legal basis to allow them to proceed.”

Additional Legal Proceedings

Earlier, on July 2, 2025, Diddy was found not guilty on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering following a two-month trial. Multiple individuals associated with the artist testified against him during the proceedings. Despite this acquittal, Diddy was ordered to be taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His legal team attempted to secure bail, but the request was denied by the court.

Diddy was initially arrested in September 2024, approximately six months after law enforcement conducted a raid at his properties in Miami and Los Angeles. His sentencing is scheduled for October this year, marking another significant milestone in his ongoing legal challenges.
