Food trends and the concept of "viral food" can be a bit challenging to embrace. These are items that attract large crowds simply because they're popular, only to fade quickly as new trends emerge. The cycle is continuous, with each trend being replaced by another. While I don't usually jump on the bandwagon for every new food fad, there are times when something catches my attention, and I just have to try it.

One such example is the FIX Dessert Chocolatier Can't Get Knafeh of It Chocolate Bar, often referred to as the Dubai Chocolate Bar. I first tried it last year at the Nuts Factory, and I was immediately hooked. For me, this chocolate bar has moved beyond being just a trendy item and has become one that I genuinely enjoy.

What Makes the Dubai Knafeh Pistachio Chocolate Bar Special?

Known as the "Dubai Chocolate Bar" on TikTok, this milk chocolate bar is packed with pistachios and knafeh (or kunafa), a crispy shredded phyllo pastry. Each bar costs around $20, which might seem steep at first, but the size makes up for it. It's comparable in size to three Hershey's chocolate bars stacked together.

The chocolate itself is sweet and smooth, but the real highlight is the pistachio-knafeh filling. This combination offers a delightful mix of crunch and creaminess. After taking my first bite, I completely understood why it became so popular. My colleague, Ola, who was there with me during my first tasting, was visibly amazed. She couldn't believe how good it was.

I saved a piece to give to Mara, our director of groceries and shopping, the next day. She confirmed that it was delicious, comparing its texture to velvet.

My Preferred Way to Enjoy the Dubai Knafeh Pistachio Chocolate Bar

I tend to buy a bar every few months and enjoy one square a day for about a week and a half. Although the bar is best enjoyed on its own, I often pair it with a glass of oat milk to balance out its richness. It has become a small, sweet ritual for me.

While the version from the Nuts Factory is my favorite, I've also found similar bars from other places, like the one from Magno, that are equally good.
