A Heartfelt Tribute to a Father’s Legacy

Brooke Hogan Oleksy, the daughter of the legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan, has opened up about her father’s passing in a deeply personal and emotional statement. She shared her thoughts on Instagram, reflecting on the profound connection she had with her father and the impact he left on her life.

“My dad's blood runs though my veins,” Oleksy wrote. “His eyes shine through my children. And our bond has never broken, not even in his final moments. We had a connection deeper than words, one that spanned lifetimes.”

Oleksy expressed gratitude for knowing the real version of her father, beyond the public persona. “Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens. We shared a quiet, sacred bond, one that could be seen and felt by anyone who witnessed us together.”

She described feeling her father’s absence even before the news of his death reached her. “When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us.” She recalled his words: “All of this is temporary and I'll always find my way back to you.” She believes they will reunite in every lifetime.

Oleksy also shared her belief that her father is now at peace, out of pain, and in a place as beautiful as he imagined. “He used to speak about this moment with such wonder and hope. Like meeting God was the greatest championship he'd ever have.”

Hogan, born Terry Eugene Bollea, was a 12-time professional wrestling world champion. His legacy extends far beyond the ring, shaping the lives of those closest to him.

As a new mother, Oleksy listed the things she will remember about her father, including building her a Barbie dream house, riding jet skies together, and sharing inside jokes only they understood. “His hugs were my home. Wrapping my arms around his big frame always made me feel like his little girl, even as I grew up. I'll never forget his scent. I swear when I hold my sweet Molly Gene, named after him, she smells just like him sometimes.”

Oleksy and her husband welcomed fraternal twins into the world in January: a son, Oliver Andrew, and a daughter, Molly Gene. “I feel his presence in my children. He lives through me, and through them. The greatest gift a father could ever give - a love that goes on... long after we're gone.”

She addressed the media portrayal of their relationship, clarifying that there was no “big fight” or “fight” between them. “It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand.” She explained that her father was confiding in her about personal and business issues, and she offered her support.

“I begged him to rest, to take care of himself. He had nothing else to prove to the world or anyone.” Oleksy and her husband moved to Florida to be near him, but over time, their relationship became more distant. “Everything started getting covered in a thick veil. It was like there was a force field around him that I couldn't get through.”

She described the shift in her father's willingness to be open as “sudden.” “He made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit. I felt a disconnect. What followed were respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll on me.”

Oleksy also reflected on her own journey, including her pregnancy with the twins and a complicated C-section. “I actually feel it was my daddy's thick Bollea blood that kept me alive to be honest.”

She shared how she had been involved in her father’s medical decisions, including sending detailed notes from past hospital stays. “I knew, deeply, what that procedure meant—it was a final option, one that might buy time, but not much more.”

In the last two years, Oleksy had to step away to protect her heart. Her husband, Steven Oleksy, remained open. “He was quietly reaching out to my dad without me knowing, trying to find a safe way back in for me. After my father passed, I read those messages, some answered, some ignored...but all of them broke my heart.”

Oleksy concluded with a heartfelt message. “All I ever truly wanted from my father was love, honesty, and a deep connection. And for a few special years, I had that—with memories that will last a lifetime.”

Her world is forever changed, but she is grateful for her loving husband and two beautiful children, who remind her every day of life’s greatest gifts. “His life was one worth celebrating. And always will be.”
