Four Juveniles Arrested After Firearms and Stolen Cars Recovered in Dedham

Arrest of Four Juveniles in Dedham Leads to Recovery of Firearms and Stolen Vehicles
Law enforcement officials in Massachusetts have made a significant arrest following a series of vehicle thefts and the recovery of multiple firearms. On Friday, the Troop H Community Action Team (CAT Team) successfully apprehended four juveniles and seized several weapons and two stolen cars in Dedham.
The incident began when the CAT Team received reports of multiple motor vehicle thefts. Among the vehicles reported missing were a white Volkswagen Jetta taken from Boston, a Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen from Milton, and a white Honda CR-V that was reported missing from Braintree. These thefts prompted an immediate investigation by state police.
Just before 10 p.m., troopers located the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Honda CR-V in an empty parking lot on a dead-end street in Dedham. After confirming that both vehicles were indeed stolen, the troopers secured the area for further processing.
Moments later, a silver Honda Pilot was seen driving down the same dead-end street. As the vehicle approached the scene, it immediately turned around and headed back to the main road. The CAT Team believed the car was returning to retrieve the stolen vehicles and initiated a traffic stop.
Before the troopers could approach the vehicle, they observed passengers inside moving nervously. Before they reached the car, the rear door opened, and a young male jumped out and fled. The troopers managed to detain three other individuals who also attempted to escape.
Once the situation was under control, the driver of the Honda Pilot informed the troopers that she was working as a rideshare driver and had no knowledge of the suspects. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered four firearms where the suspects had been seated. Additional searches revealed three more weapons.
Among the recovered weapons, several were found to have large-capacity magazines. One firearm had its serial number defaced, while another was equipped with a switch device—a small, illegal attachment that converts a pistol into a fully automatic weapon.
During the standard arrest process, troopers discovered a 40MM round on one of the suspects. Shortly after, Boston Police located the fourth suspect on River Street behind a business.
All four suspects were transported for booking. Due to their juvenile status, no information about their identities has been released. The Bail Commissioner ordered that none of the suspects be held on bail, and they were transferred to the Department of Youth Services.
Each of the juveniles will face multiple charges, including:
- Possession of a loaded machine gun — (1 count)
- Possession of a large-capacity feeding device — (3 counts)
- Possession of ammunition without an FID card — (4 counts)
- Possession of a firearm without an FID card — (4 counts)
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license — (4 counts)
- Defacing a firearm serial number — (1 count)
One of the juveniles will also be charged with resisting arrest.
The Massachusetts State Police thanked the Dedham and Boston Police Departments for their cooperation during the operation. They encouraged the public to report any criminal activity, especially related to auto theft and illegal firearms.
This is an ongoing story, and updates are expected as more information becomes available.
