A 22-year-old driver is now facing an intoxication manslaughter charge following a deadly crash that occurred on a Friday night in Denton, Texas. The incident resulted in the death of Rossana Cacal, a well-known local chef, and left her husband injured. The suspect, Noah Kendrick, was released from jail after posting a $62,500 bond.

The accident happened when Rossana Cacal and her husband were returning home from a family birthday party. According to Francesca Cacal, Rossana's daughter, the couple was almost at their house when the crash occurred. The family expressed their deep sorrow over the incident, especially since it has come to light that the driver involved was allegedly intoxicated.

Francesca shared her feelings about the tragedy, saying, "This was supposed to be a time of celebration, and it just turned the whole other way." She described how quickly the accident happened, stating, "They came down so quickly, there was no way. I think my dad could have known how quickly that car was coming down that street."

As the couple was turning onto their street, Northway, Denton police reported that a suspected drunk driver struck them. Rossana, who was in the passenger seat, died at the hospital, while her husband remains in the hospital recovering. Francesca recounted how her father kept repeating, "Check on your mom, check on your mom," highlighting the emotional impact of the loss.

There’s traces of it everywhere, and it makes me want to be that person who’s not leaving dark spots, who's always leaving spots of light, spots of happiness, spots of joy."

Francesca plans to honor her mother's last message to the family, which was to always follow their passions and not wait to do things. "Make the time. If you don’t make it now, you might not get to make it later," she said.
