A Unique Celebration of Music and Community

The second annual Provida Fest is set to take over Uptown’s Woodruff Park this weekend, blending the excitement of a music festival with the nostalgic charm of an old-school field day. This event, organized by Provida Records, aims to bring together Columbus’ indie music scene and the fun-filled energy of childhood games. The festival has quickly become a local favorite, offering something for everyone, from live performances to interactive activities that bring the community together.

A Vision for Connection and Growth

Justin Fields, co-founder of Provida Records, created the festival with a clear mission: to unite Columbus' diverse music scenes and provide a platform for local talent. He believes that music has the power to transform and connect people, and he wants to showcase the city's rich musical diversity. “Provida Fest is an attempt at bringing these communities together to have one big showcase of just all-around talent,” Fields said in a press release.

This year’s event promises to be a full-day celebration filled with classic field day competitions like the three-legged race and the egg toss. The goal is to create a space where people can enjoy pure, unadulterated fun while supporting local artists and businesses.

A Diverse Lineup of Local Talent

The lineup features a wide range of local musicians, representing various genres and styles. From jazz to rock and everything in between, there’s something for every music lover. Some of the acts include:

One of the standout acts, The Rosehill Band, will perform at 7:45 PM. Band members Ivey Jones, Noah Herrera, and Chandler Kelley are also planning to participate in the three-legged race. Herrera will also play earlier in the day with the Loft regulars, the Sweet South Band, at 3:45 PM.

Food, Fun, and More

Fest-goers can look forward to a variety of food options from local restaurants and food trucks. Epic Restaurant, Country’s Barbeque, and Icey Girl & Co. will be serving their popular dishes, but there will also be surprise vendors to keep things exciting.

In addition to the music and food, the festival will feature a special pet adoption tent from the Paws Humane Society. Visitors can meet and interact with adoptable dogs, and the organization encourages attendees to find their perfect furry friend.

Tips for a Great Experience

With the event taking place outdoors, organizers recommend bringing essentials like sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and waterproof shoes for the splash pad. Chairs or blankets for sitting on the grass, along with an umbrella or hat, will help make the day more comfortable. Rain gear is also a good idea in case of unexpected weather.
