He believes that the integration of concepts such as cognition, chaos, fractals, teleology, and agency into standard biological theory can offer new insights into the origin of life, the uniqueness of humanity, and the nature of human consciousness.

While acknowledging that evolution is "undeniably valid," Garte challenges the notion that Darwin's theory of natural selection fully explains the complexity of life. He suggests that evolution depends on a deeper principle: the universal property of inheritance through highly accurate self-replication. This perspective opens the door for a broader understanding of how life operates, one that can coexist with a Biblical worldview.

Garte highlights the importance of moving beyond debates over the validity of evolution within the Christian community. “Arguments among Christians about the truth of biological evolution are of little value and serve only to sow division within the Church,” he stated. Instead, he encourages a focus on the emerging approaches in the science of life that align with Christian theology.

Garte's work aims to foster unity among Christians regarding the relationship between science and faith. He hopes that his book will reach a wide audience, including those interested in biology and the origins of life. “Readers will come away with an understanding that there is nothing in biological science that conflicts with Christianity,” he said. “To the contrary, what we know about life fully supports biblically sound faith in God.”

In a recent Substack update, Garte reiterated that evolution itself is neither atheistic nor antibiblical. “The theory of evolution is fully consistent with the existence and omnipotence of a divine creator,” he wrote. He further explained that evolution by natural selection is not the most important principle in the life sciences but rather a result of more fundamental, uniquely biological processes.
