Upon arrival, HPD reported finding a child with a gunshot wound. The child was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. HPD, along with members of the Violent Crimes Unit, conducted a thorough investigation into the incident. Their findings indicated that the shooting took place inside a nearby apartment.

Further details from the investigation revealed that two children were in a bedroom of the apartment when they began mishandling a gun. During this time, the weapon was accidentally discharged by one child, resulting in the injury of the other.
