Brooke Hogan Speaks Out After Dad Hulk Hogan's Passing: 'I Love You More Than the Stars'

A Heartfelt Farewell from Brooke Hogan
Brooke Hogan, the daughter of the late wrestler and actor Hulk Hogan, shared her emotional reaction to his passing. The retired wrestler, known for his iconic career in professional wrestling, passed away on July 24 at his home in Clearwater, Florida, after experiencing cardiac arrest. He was 71 years old.
In a heartfelt message, Brooke expressed her deep love for her father. She wrote, “My Dearest Daddy, You were my everything, and I will always be your girl.” This message accompanied a carousel of photos capturing moments from her life with her father over the years. She also added, “I am PROUD to be your daughter—for all the love, light, and goodness you brought into this world. Thank you for choosing me in this lifetime, and for loving me so deeply.”
Brooke continued with an emotional explanation of her relationship with her father, stating, “I love you more than all the stars in the sky” and that their bond is “eternal.” Her post included six slides of text, where she addressed some misconceptions about her relationship with Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea.
She clarified that there had never been a “big fight” between them. “My father and I never 'fought,'" she said. Instead, she described a series of private phone calls that no one else would ever hear, know, or understand. These conversations covered all aspects of their lives.
Brooke mentioned that she had urged her father to rest and take care of himself, as he had nothing left to prove to the world. She and her husband, Steven Oleksy, had moved to Florida to be near him, as he was getting older. She wanted to be there as much as possible. However, things began to change when he stopped allowing her to be present during surgeries. “Everything started getting covered in a thick veil. It was like there was a force field around him that I couldn't get through,” she noted.
The situation became even more complicated when she experienced a “very complicated and scary C-section with a hard recovery.” This period was emotionally taxing for her. “During the last two years, I had to step away to protect my heart,” Brooke said.
She revealed that her husband had remained in touch with the elder Hogan, and she had read the messages they exchanged. “All of them broke my heart,” she wrote. Despite this, she felt she had done everything she could. “He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”
Since Hulk Hogan's passing, several notable figures have paid tribute, including his wife, Sky Daily, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and former President Donald Trump. Brooke’s message serves as a touching reminder of the deep love and connection she shared with her father, even amid the challenges they faced. She concluded by saying, “All I ever truly wanted from my father was love, honesty, and a deep connection. And for a few special years, I had that — with memories that will last a lifetime.”
