One video featured an employee explaining that giant Pacific octopuses are known for their ability to move objects weighing up to 700 pounds using their suction cups. The employee also highlighted that the tank housing Cthulhu is larger than the recommended size, which is 1,000 gallons. She noted that many aquariums have enclosed tanks because these animals are skilled problem solvers and can escape if given the chance.

“We have never had an octopus escape,” the employee stated. She emphasized that the octopuses are kept happy with toys, enrichment activities, and a nutritious diet. The video concluded with Cthulhu attaching itself to the employee’s arm, showcasing the strength of the animal. While the employee managed to remove the octopus on her own, Taryn expressed her concerns about the situation being more challenging for a child.
