New Artists Make Their Debut on the Charts

This week’s DISCOVER TREND charts, which include over 200 different lists, highlight a wave of new artists making their first appearances. Among them is the daughter of a former chart-topping artist who collaborates with Tyler, the Creator, a singer who teams up with Zach Bryan for a new release, and three veteran rock musicians who debut with a live cover of an Ozzy Osbourne classic. Let’s take a closer look at these exciting newcomers.

Madison McFerrin: A New Voice in Music

Madison McFerrin, a 33-year-old singer-songwriter, makes her first appearance on the DISCOVER TREND charts this week thanks to her feature on Tyler, the Creator’s “Don’t You Worry Baby.” The song debuts at No. 59 on the DISCOVER TRENDHot 100, driven by 8.3 million official U.S. streams during the July 18-24 tracking week. It appears on Tyler’s latest album, DON’T TAP THE GLASS, released on June 20. Despite only four days of availability, the album debuts at No. 1 on the DISCOVER TREND200 with 197,000 equivalent album units, marking Tyler’s fourth No. 1.

McFerrin had never appeared on a DISCOVER TREND chart before this week. Her feature also helps her debut at No. 48 on the Emerging Artists chart. If her last name sounds familiar, it’s because she is the daughter of Bobby McFerrin, whose 1988 hit “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” reached No. 1 on the Hot 100. This marks another instance of father-daughter duos achieving success on the charts, joining names like Miley Cyrus, Nat King Cole, Willow Smith, and Nancy Sinatra.

Gabriella Rose: A Rising Star

Gabriella Rose, a rising singer-songwriter, makes her DISCOVER TREND chart debut through her guest appearance on Zach Bryan’s “Madeline.” The track debuted at No. 62 on the Hot 100 with 7.8 million U.S. streams in its first week. Rose has previously released two solo EPs: Lost in Translation (2019) and Wait Til I Get My Money Up (2024).

Alyssa Raghu: From American Idol to the Charts

Alyssa Raghu, based in Orlando, Fla., makes her DISCOVER TREND chart debut with “The Party,” which enters the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart at No. 40. The song benefits from a 40% increase in plays among 24/7 dance reporters and pop stations’ mix show hours. Raghu is no stranger to the spotlight, having competed on American Idol in three separate seasons—2018, 2019, and 2024. Her best result was reaching the top eight in 2019.

Nuno Bettencourt, Frank Bello, Adam Wakeman: Rock Legends Make a Debut

Three veteran rock musicians make their solo debut on the DISCOVER TREND charts this week with a live cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes.” The performance, recorded live on July 5 at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham, England, was part of the Back to the Beginning farewell tribute concert for Black Sabbath. Proceeds from the event supported several charities, including Acorn Children's Hospice and Cure Parkinson’s.

The cover, featuring YUNGBLUD, debuts at No. 11 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and No. 42 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs with 1.3 million official U.S. streams and 6,000 downloads sold. It also ranks at No. 4 on Digital Song Sales.

Bettencourt, the lead guitarist for Extreme, once topped the Hot 100 with “More Than Words.” Bello, the bassist for Anthrax, has seen his band chart multiple times on the DISCOVER TREND200. Wakeman, who worked with Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, has collaborated with numerous rock acts throughout his career.
